The Insight XTD a3OS is perfect for a slower swing speed player who wants extra distance as well as the golfer who is trying to eliminate a slice to gain those extra yards.

Features:
  • Designed to achieve optimal launch conditions and maximum ball velocity for slower swing speeds
  • CG (center of gravity) is positioned low and toward the heel to help close the face at impact for greater distance
  • Innovative Boxer Technology pushes mass away from the face and into the corners for high MOI (moment of inertia)
  • Features the newest in high-performance shafts - the Aldila DVS 55-gram graphite shaft

I tend to fade and slice the ball, I have used the 06 cobra f speed for the last few years and love the thing .
Long and straight. Just for sport I seen a adams XTD a3os driver in the local pros shop and since I am hitting a3 irons a thought I would try it.

The slight offset and square head are a confidence booster . Man is this club straight !!!! Nothing to think of just grab thing and pound it.
I found it be 5 to 10 yards longer than my f speed.

Great driver.. they can be picked up for 169.00 now,, one heck of a deal.

i dont have the a3 OS but i didnt see a thread for the just the a3 so ill post here.

i have had it for about a week, but i just cant hit it for the life of me.
it seems to have a bit of a longer shaft (8.5* stock dvs 55 stiff) and i dont know if thats the reason but i cant get a good solid contact off the face. even when i do it just doesnt seem solid.

but if you do get a good hit off of it.. you will be standing in the tee box for a good minute just admiring the flight on it..

i had the burner before this (9.5* stock shaft stiff) one of the easiest to hit but just wasnt getting as much distance. but with the insight when i did get a good hit off it carried 250 and rolled a good 20.

and yes the price is unmatched, just not the club for me i guess.. if youre looking for a budget driver i'd deff look into this one

Depends on who you ask...but generally 90-95mph or below.

I have to ask....are you playing the right loft for your SS? You are correct about the shaft length it is 46" stock, too long for almost everyone. One of those marketing deals....there is no reason to try and play a driver that long. This is a different topic so I'll leave it at that.

I have a G10 as my gamer. I saw the XTD is on sale so I picked one up to keep in my car and bang around for fun. I hate the thing. My G10 feels way better, sounds better and hit it straighter. The XTD feels hollow and too light. Has no feel to it. Not worth even the $169 sale price.

I briefly owned an XTD A3 10.5* with the DVS-55 Regular flex, but it just didn't work for me. I was VERY inconsistent in distance and direction, which surprised me given the premium shaft and the very high MOI head. After two disappointing rounds, I did a range comparo of the G10 and Tour Burner with the same specs as the A3 and I was longer and MUCH more consistent with the G10 and TB. Long story short, the G10 is in the bag! As always, YMMV.

Just picked up one of these for $100 new off Ebay. Struggled a lot with the Cobra driver this year (seemed to want to tail right a lot) and thought I couldn't go wrong to try this for the price. Am a little concerned with the longer shaft but anxious to give it a twirl!

I'm using the A3OS 10.5 with a stick stiff shaft. It's the driver for me.. I'm not huge off the tee but I can average around 225 and almost always in the fairway. I used a Adams BUL last year with the same specs and it was just as long, felt great, but I would fight fading it away into a slice. The A3OS is totally anti-slice. Great club!

I'm leaning toward this driver as well, but the 46" length scares me a little. Why in the world do they insist on making it that long when it's universally common knowledge that most golfers can't control a club that long? Are they getting kickbacks from the thousands upon thousands of clubmakers making money to shorten the shafts on these things?

The golf industry could use a HUGE injection of common sense. 90% of the companies making clubs are making 90% of their clubs to poorly fit 90% of all golfers.

This can only be the case to keep clubmakers and fitters in business. Same reason the auto industry builds cars with inferior parts - to keep mechanics in business.

Yep...I'm a conspiracy theorist. But I'm not wrong.

Has anyone compared this to the XTD a3 and the XTD Pro? How does it stack up?

I play the pro model.... best driver I've hit
so solid

the regualr A3 model is ok, but needs major shaft work as its too light and too long

the OS model is junk unless you slice it, then THE HEAD is good, but like any club, you need a better shaft, the DVS is great, but in 70g or more the 55g is crap and they snap all the time

I'm with you. I recently put the XTD Pro in my bag and I'm loving it. Its amazing the differences between these three clubs, i.e., the difference a shaft can make.

I realize the Pro isn't for everybody but has anyone considered putting a better shaft in either of the other two?

Just bought the a3os XTD & took it out on the range for the first time today. Maybe I need to give it time, but my first impression is that I'm not crazy about it. Of course, my swing has plenty of problems, but the same swing that kept the ball straight or slightly left with my old TM R7 Draw produces a classic banana slice with the Adams club. Only made the switch because the shaft on my TM broke recently & I found a great deal on the Adams. Thinking now about having the R7-Draw reshafted & selling the Adams - there's no question which club is more forgiving and easier to control.

I find it interesting that clubs marketed as "game improvement" clubs come stock with 46" shafts. In my novice opinion, anybody who NEEDS all the game improvement features the a3os head comes with isn't going to be able to control a 46" club. And anybody who can control a 46" club isn't going to need the "game improvement" head. Ironic, don't you think?

this is my first post in this great forum. sorry for my poor english.

Similar to Boomermike, I also used TM R7 460 Draw (with stiff shaft) before using this A30S XTD. I was looking for a new driver which can give me more distance. With R7 Draw + lot of luck i could go as far as 200+ meter straight to the fairway and i needed to go farther. I also felt that it's time for me to start using a "neutral" driver instead of "draw" one.

So when i saw this A30S XTD with all the tags that this is the driver who can give more distance for the slow swinger, i thought this may be the one for me. So i sold my R7 draw to a friend and bought A30S with 10.5 loft and an NVS aldila regular shaft.

My first mistake, i didnt realize that A30S is also a "draw" driver. i should've bought A3 instead which is a more neutral driver (but A3 was not on sale).
I also doubted that i made the right choice buying the one with a 10.5 loft and regular shaft. But the fact that i'm still playing over 100 should justify my decision on the regular shaft (instead of stiff) and 10.5 loft (instead of 9.5 like my previous R7 draw).

The next day i went to the driving range, and i didnt find this driver satisfy my need. There is no additional distance, even i feel my old R7 draw went slightly farther than this. The result was also inconsistent as there were occasionally poor hooks. The good thing is, this driver handles slices much better than R7 draw. There were absolutely no slice at all.

Last weekend I played using this driver, and it's actually quite okay. There was no worries of slicing the ball and it made me more confident. The result was most of the balls went straight to the fairway and although they didnt go as far as i expected, at least i didnt feel i was losing my distance. So i think i'm gonna keep this driver for a while unless i could find someone who wants to pay a decent price.

thanks.
