TaylorMade Golf launched the P750 and P770 forged Irons earlier this year and our GolfWRX team spotted P790 long irons being tested on Tour recently, as well as DJ teasing us with some new P730 forged irons. Could these last two models round out the 2017 TaylorMade P700 forged Iron family?

TaylorMade wants to invite 6 GolfWRX forum members for an all-inclusive trip to The Kingdom in California to participate in the TaylorMade Forged Experience.  Want to attend?  Read how to apply below.

-Current USGA handicap: 5.7
-What are your current irons and shafts (be specific): PXG 0311T (4-PW) with Nippon Modus 130x
-Were you fit for your current irons?  If so, where / when?: yes. I was fit at Miles of Golf in Ypsilanti, MI, in the Spring of 2016.
-State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at TaylorMade Golf: it's been a dream of mine to be able to be fit by the same people that fit the PGA Tour professionals. I'm also a bit of a fitting junkie; I'm now on a first name basis with all of the fitters at Miles of Golf. It would be awesome to compare a PGA TOUR level fitting with what the majority of golfers have access to for fittings.

  • Sort of, was fit by local fitter in DFW a few years ago. Current set has been adjusted to those specs.
  • Have been a huge fan of TM forged irons since the 300 forged; one of my all time favorite sets. Would love to be fit by the pros at TM HQ!

What are your current irons and shafts (be specific): Titleist T MB 4-6, MB 7-PW, Dynamic Gold AMT S400
Were you fit for your current irons?  If so, where / when?: I've never been fit for irons.
State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at TaylorMade Golf: Hovering around scratch for the past few seasons with mediocre to average iron play.  I think if I'm professionally fit by the crew at TM, my game and ball striking could improve.  Having total knee replacement in October at age 43 and I'm looking to start the '18 season with fit irons.

Thanks for the opportunity!

  • Were you fit for your current irons?  If so, where / when? no fitting
  • State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at TaylorMade Golf ; I've been self fitting all my life and as my competitive golf career has waned with the onset of a wife and children I have neither the time or $$$ to either go through a fitting or purchase the clubs that a fitter might recommend for me.  I also worry that as I'm advancing in age (55) and losing a bit of clubhead speed it is more important than ever for me to get fit. Just grabbing a set of stiffs that I like the feel of is probably not going to suit me for much longer down the road.Proper fitting by Taylormade professionals would be the best way for me to maximize my clubs performance and ensure I was playing the best fitted equipment, something in 40+ years of playing the game I've never had the pleasure of experiencing. If I had a bucket list this would most certainly be at the top.....

    • State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at TaylorMade Golf - I want to attend this exclusive opportunity to learn about the forging process and what goes in to designing, manufacturing, and how the final product comes to be. I really enjoy the technical aspects of manufacturing and quality control since that's the industry I currently work in. I'd also like to compare my irons to the TaylorMade offerings to see where improvements can be made by the master fitters at the Kingdom. Based off some of the other TaylorMade & GolfWrx sponsored events, the winners are in for a real treat and hopefully I get the opportunity to find out for myself!

  • State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at TaylorMade Golf Ever since switching over to Taylormade (Titleist guy my whole life), I've wanted to go to the Kingdom. Although the 770's are in the bag, the 750's, 790's, and the 730's look very good. And judging those on the play of my 770's, I imagine these new sticks are next level gear. Getting fit by PGA tour fitters would be unreal. I'd have to bring an notebook and recorder to take notes!

  • Taylormade has been doing well in the metal woods and I'm skeptical but curious as to how good their irons could be.  In all of my group including myself, everyone has played TM driver or metal wood at some point, but never their irons.  I have also never been fit for irons and am extremely hopeful to go.  Never been to the Kingdom nor have I ever been chosen to go to any manufacturer's fitting center.  Would take as many pictures and videos as I am allowed to.  It's probably an outside chance I'm chosen, but absolutely would love to go.  Fingers crossed.  Thanks to both wrx and TM, props.  6 people will be thrilled.

Was not traditionally fit, does self fit count? ;)

This trip is once in a lifetime so who wouldn't want to go?  Oddly enough, I want to go because TM is my least favorite golf related brand by quite a wide margin.  BUT this year I started using the red spider putter and the TP5X ball.  The putter for me aligns perfectly and I don't think I've pulled or pushed but a few putts since I've put it in my bag.  I have more confidence in the TP5X than any ball I've ever used.  I really haven't looked at or even hit a TM club (save a couple swings with an M2 hybrid) in years so my recent experiences have me intrigued as to what the company has to offer.

State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at TaylorMade Golf: I have heard nothing but great reviews on the experience of attending the Kingdom and being fitted by their pros.  Would love to finally get properly fit and there's no better place to do it.

My swing has changed a fair amount over the last 4 years since I was last fit and would love to be fit by the pros at Taylormade as I ramp up my amateur tournament play.  I'd be curious to hear from them what would work with my swing and what I might be able to improve with a different set up.  I'd also be interested to hear what I could do with my misses and the few complaints with my current setup, specifically flight and spin.  Obviously would be a huge opportunity to leave no stone unturned to get fit for the best set up possible since I've read here that their facilities and employees are amazing!

Current handicap: 5.7

Current irons: Ping ie1 4-gw. Blue dot. Shafts are modus 105 stiff 1/2 inch long.  I wasn't fit for these irons. My last fitting was about 15 years ago for ping i3 irons. I have just been ordering any new irons I buy based on those specs. I would imagine a good fitting would do wonders for me.

Why would I like to attend this event:  I have followed all of these threads when members go on fitting events and they seem like an amazing time.  The opportunity to be fit like a tour pro into a set of clubs is a once in a lifetime chance for most of us and I would love every minute of it.  Meeting new golf buddies and having nothing to do for entire weekend other than golf related stuff would be a pretty close second place on my list too.

Current index: 7.9
Irons:  Mizuno MP 55 with XP95 R300 shafts 1 degree upright
Fitted:  No
Why would I want to go?:  This is like asking why I would want $1 million dollars, lol.  I've played golf for almost 30 years and I have never received a proper iron fitting.  I have had some success with my trial and error approach to building my set but I would love the opportunity to not only get fit, but have a tour level experience.  I also have to mention that Taylormade has just released some of their best looking irons in years and I would love to see which set would fit me best.

  • What are your current irons and shafts (be specific): Bridgestone J40cb (3-9) with DG S300 shafts
  • Were you fit for your current irons?  If so, where / when? No, I bought my current set 2nd hand during grad school and didn't have the funds to get fit
  • State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity to be fit at TaylorMade Golf: Where to start? My first set of clubs were a Taylormade burner youth set with the bubble shaft. It would be fun to put some TM irons back in play after falling in love with golf years ago. This would be a once in a lifetime opportunity to get professionally fit for another set of Taylormade irons. I would love to get more insight into the creative process from the leading design and marketing teams. Frankly, I had not looked at Taylormade outside of woods for many years, but the entire lineup for Taylormade is as good as any in golf.

Never professionally but would be a great retirement (22 years of Navy service) and I am right down the street.

State why you'd want to attend this exclusive opportunity:
As my time in the Navy comes to an end I am going to work hard on getting that handicap down.  Right now I am only able to play/practice a few times a week and with the extra time I will be able to get to where I should be to play professionally.  With a good fitting I know this can only help and get me to where I know I can be!  Thanks again!

Were you fit for your current irons?  If so, where / when?
-No! Current irons have been the (expensive) result of much trial and error. The last time I was fit was at a big box in 2012, and knowing what I now know, that hardly qualifies as a fitting.

-I welcome any opportunity to gain knowledge from those that are considered the best in their field. This experience will obviously be fantastic for those who are lucky enough to be selected, and I would relish the opportunity to share any and everything with the other members of this forum!

I have always loved Taylormade products (play full set of M series woods), but really have never gotten along well with their irons, from the Coin Forged, to the LT, to the RS1 I have tired many wanting to love them. I would love the opportunity to be properly fit for this great new irons. It never has been within my budget to allow for a full custom fitting, but would love to do so someday.

Thanks to T'made and Golfwrx for another great opportunity.

- 10.5
- TM M1 with KBS Tour shafts
- Totally Driven in Minneapolis - Last year and applied the measurements to my new M1s in June
- I have been a TaylorMade fan for years and would love the opportunity to get fitted by the best. I know I can hit a quality forged club and it would be an amazing opportunity to get fitted by the best club makers in the world.

Also, no problem writing a blog or reviews. Social media marketing is my "real" job
