Did anyone's MP18 PW come super weak? I need to get the loft checked on mine. I'm not getting more than 125 total out of this club, and that's if I really try to step on it. My previous set, Epon af-302's, I had a 46* PW and it was my 135 carry club.

No offence to anyone, but I would have the loft and lie checked on all your clubs after purchase.  I bought a brand new set of King Pro's (black) earlier this year, and the lofts were all over the place.  When I receive my MP-18's, I will have them checked.

Looking to hear more users thoughts on the turf interaction with the Fli-Hi's (2-4) off fairway and rough. I know they are fantastic off the tee. Now that users have had some time to hit them from a variety of lies, how is their versatility?

I had good results with the H4 from all lies, H5 from the rough but not fairway lol.

I've also learned the hard way after buying several nuked up 2-irons, that although I get great distance and wind performance, they are essentially a one-trick pony for me. 3-irons serve me better in nearly every regard especially for long par 3's and coming into par 5's.

Although I'm sure you can't go wrong with a 3i in Fli-Hi or P790. I do believe the Cally driving iron and Srixon (unannounced yet) have something up their sleeve. Great year for long iron replacements! I'm going to be patient and try them all before I pull trigger!

No offense taken! When I received the clubs, I only checked the lofts of the two clubs where the combo set transitions. I checked the PW loft today, and drumroll...it was 49*. Wowee.

The fli hi went too far for me. I had to weaken the loft 3 to get it down to a reasonable gap from the 5i SC. No complaints there. Launches higher off the deck. It's an absolute cannon.

The MP18 fli hi are amazing. I would game these throughout the set, 4-W if they were available.

Aren’t the MMC close?

Didn't like to look of the MMC.  The Fli Hi are more like the SC but with bags of forgiveness.

That's interesting. I am glad I went with the 900 forged instead then as they are a little stronger.  The 3 and 4 fli hi should blend well with the 900F 5i.

So I have the itch to try these again. Thinking 2-4 in the fli-hi, 5 and 6 in the sc and 7-pw in the mb. That sounds like a set that makes sense to me. All with c-tapers 130x. I'm also toying with the idea of PX lz 6.5.

Try both shafts and you won't be toying with the LZ's they will be going straight in the bag.

I switched from the regular project x to the LZs because of elbow pain. Very happy I did.

i had to drop regular projext x due to really bad wrist pain.  They are quite harsh shafts IMO.

Agree - PX always tough on the elbows.  For that reason, I've tended to stay with DG for most of my playing days.  However, I ordered a split set of SC/MP-18's from DD with Modus 120x to give them a try...liked the feel and good numbers on trackman.  DD said my irons are arriving to them today, so I should have them early next week.  Super excited...as I've still been playing MP-64's since I hadn't found anything to kick them out of the bag until now.

Just picked up a demo set of MMC 5-P, also came with 3-4 Fli-Hi, Modus 120S, paid $20 got em til Monday - woo-hoo.

I was first guy, so even got to take the plastic off.  I did not know the 3-4 fli-hi came with the MMC set, stoked to try these and especially the shafts.

Those are someone's set that they backed out of.

Look forward to your review, especially 4 Fli Hi and 5-7 MMC.

Nope, DEMO grips, they had the SC and the blade, but I was not overly interested in either stock shaft offering, have played both.  I have never hit the Modus 120, and am considering them in a set of P790's, although, these may find themselves in the discussion.

The MMC's look great.  I love taking the plastic off a new set of irons, even if I have to give em back.

I'm going for a fitting in a couple of weeks for a set of SC's.  I tried them briefly and the shaft optimizer spit out C Taper Lite X-Stiff was the winner over the KBS Tour and the AMT.  (85mph - 6,2,4,5)

I want to try some of their other shaft offerings before I order.  I tested the blade, SC, MMC, and Fli-Hi.  The SC and Fli-Hi were the clear winners for me.  The MMC gave me a bit more ball speed, but the look and feel just didn't wow me.  The blades could work in the 8-P, but I figure I could use the forgiveness of the SC.

I'm always 5/5/2/5 for the optimizer, since it's come out....not sure what that means

I went with 3/4 iron Fli-Hi (bent weak) and then a combo set of 5-7 SC and 8-P in the blades all with the C-Taper Lite X . I started with just the 4 Fli-Hi and loved it so much I went back and ordered the 3. I could not recommend this combo more. It gives you the best of everything, forgiveness in the long irons, and workability in the scoring irons not to mention the shafts look so amazing in them.

Has anyone hit the SC and compared to the MP-25? I am assuming the feel is better but wondering about forgiveness. In my experience I actually found the MP-25s pretty forgiving so curious how they compare. Im also a lefty so dont have the option of any of the other MP 18 offerings.

I think I will bend my Fli-Hi weak too.  It was launching a bit lower than I might like.

No difference in forgiveness in my opinion. Forged CB irons are generally the same in the mizuno line.
