That will be the stock config for the kits, but also a 5/25 for the 2 ball.

Are you saying that the 2-ball kit will come with 4 pairs of weights, 5/10/20/25, or just 2 pairs, 5/25?

no, with it having a 15g stock, think you just get 1/5, and 1/25, as it only has 1 weight.  You could do 340/350/360.

I think the 7s is the only retail one with the 10g, so would only have the option to go heavier.

I was lucky enough to get a custom kit with 2/20, and 2/25.

It would be cool to choose the weights you want in the kit, but would be a lot more work than just having pre-packaged.

Wonder if all kits will have the same weight assortment too.

@warrick now I'm jealous. I'm waiting for those to be released so my 3T can get a little bit more weight in the head. Never been good with lead tape that wasn't an option.

I know this is a bit delayed but I also have a 3T and instead of wasting $$ on a weight kit (I called Odyssey and they refused to send me a kit or weights - told me I could buy them online), I had those lead rubber squares that I cut off the corners and inserted into the cavity underneath the sole weights.  I was able to fit two in each cavity very snuggly.  Assuming that each were 2g's, I was able to add ~8g's total which was perfect for me at 33.5".  Happy to show pictures if helps but try this first before spending $50 on a kit.  Good luck!

$50 on a weight kit (or $40 for 1 set of weights) is outlandish but I guess that's what they upcharged for the tank series of works putters a couple years ago.  The difference was the tank series included 3 counterbalance weights for the grip as well.  It was sweet.  Just didn't love the putter face.  Every piece of sand or dirty would get in that perforated type metal face.

The moment China starts making the weights, like they do with SC, it'll be sweet.

I agree 110%. To come out with a line of putters that had adjustable weights, and not include them, and then f*ck up the release of the kits for months was ridiculous.

I actually had some communication with some people over at Callaway about this whole thing.  I am not sure if anyone remembers, but the initial description in the pre-release info stated "adjustable sole weighting" for about 48 hours prior to being changed to "sole weighting"

That was the reason I reached out to someone.  My thought was "adjustable sole weighting" meant a kit was included, but found out it was not.  I think it would have been worse had they not changed that, but yeah, still should have been "package deal", could have just charged $219, instead of $199, people would have been much happier.

I was lucky and got a custom kit early, have been very happy.

Glad I happened across this thread. It's helped a lot. But still have a couple unanswered questions.

I have a 35" 1W S (Red, don't know if that matters or not).  I would really like to cut it down to 33", but in talking with our pro it would make it way too light.

Can anyone help with how much weight would have to be added back to the head to keep it comparable to where it is now? Also, being I'm always a little timid to mess with things, I haven't even tried to remove the weights that came in this one. I assume since it is a 35" model they are 10g weights, but that is just speculation.

Also, now it sounds like you can't purchase extra or heavier weights?

I would say 10g, so if you have stock 15's (pretty sure), would need a set of 20's

Your #1W most likely has 15g stock.  As far as I know, only the 7s putters came stock with 10g weights.  You can pull them, if they have any sort of hollow out, they are the 10g, but likely 15.

I'm such a worry wart about trying stuff that I've never even tried to take the weights out. I hate even messing with the adjustments on my drivers.

But someone above said a Callaway wrench works well? I might have one of those around here somewhere.

Curious now. My pro (along with a very helpful poster here) are looking into acquiring heavier weights.  Will going from 15g to 20g weights offset the two inches I would be cutting off the shaft?

I would think that should be about right, only other option is tracking down 2-25g weights, and that has to be really difficult.  You can always slap on some lead tape if you need a bit more.

Thanks Warrick, our pro is a Callaway staffer so I thought I'd check with him too. I've just never had much luck with getting lead tape to adhere well. I'm sure its probably something I'm doing.  Plus I would think it would look bad in the red cavity, I think that would bug me.

Until I finally bit the bullet and ordered the weight kit I was using tungsten putty inside the weight holes. The weights wouldn't quite sit flush with the bottom of the putter, but it obviously wasn't noticeable at address.

I know someone mentioned something similar earlier in the thread. I claim I'm not OCD about much of anything, but I do think the weights not sitting flush would bother me, even though I couldn't see it, I would know it.

That was probably me, which is why I finally broke down and spent the F'in $50 on the overpriced weight kit. Grrrr.

Grrrr.

Where did you buy the kit?

I purchased it directly from Odyssey when it was available on their website back in December. Alas, it appears to be gone now.

I finally was able to nab a weight kit from the bay today.  These things are hard to find.
