I was able to excecute the idea I had above. Squeezed 5g of tungsten putty under each 15g weight. The weights are tight enough to get the wrench to click so I don't fear they'll come loose at all. It may look goofy but, I think the protruding weights might actually help me make more solid contact. It's like that drill of putting a quarter under your putter.

The 7s uses 10g weights, which have a fairly large hollow area when you remove them. I managed to fill the cavity in the weights with two two inch-ish sized lead strips cut into small pieces. No idea how many grams it is, but certainly helps with the countercore grip I'm using.

Now if anyone has any advice on fixing the horrible hollow 'ting' sound this putter makes, that would be awesome!

Well...I can tell you the black 7s makes the "ting" sound too....mine does. Didn't hear it in the store....but did when on the practice green at my course. Hopefully someone crafty will see this thread and come up with a solution.

If you tap your fingernail between the weights...or the web between the two wings, you can hear it.

Since the 7s uses the 10g weights with the small depression/cavity maybe that hollow space is causing the sound. Try putting a cotton ball under each weight.

The weights for the metal x series were way cooler but likely more costly

If the stock weights are 10g, why no 15g in the kit?

I am just passing info from Sean from Q&A yesterday.  Ask Odyssey, I have no idea.  I do think the 7s is the only one with the 10g weights stock.

Would a nickel fit inside the back of the weight? They weigh 5 grams. If not, 2 pennies or dimes stacked may work. Would get you right at about 4.5-5 grams in each. If they fit, just put a touch of glue or epoxy in there and good to go.

The dime is the only coin that fits. But I'll take the extra ~5g for now.

The pics of the weights previously in this thread are the 10g weights that I believe only come in the 7s. My 2W and I think the other models come with 15g weights that are 100% solid.

if dimes are too big to fit inside the weights themselves maybe some steel washers from the hardware store. or just some folded up lead tape.

oh nm. i see hat you said the weights don't have a cavity in the 2w

I have a 2-ball with only one weight. It is solid and I just weighed it on my digital postal scale and it weighed around 11.grams.The scale is pretty accurate.I was hoping to just buy one weight. What's the point of having a weight kit when you only have 1 weight?I think I'll stick with my high density lead tape.

So I felt the putter was light as well, and here's my solution. I rummaged around my spare parts/nuts/bolts bin and found two nuts that fit perfectly and weigh 4g each. The additional 8g total was just about perfect, and it cost me $.00! I blacked out the white lines too.

Shouldn't the weight kit include an extra weight for the counterweight in the grip?

So I felt the putter was light as well, and here's my solution. I rummaged around my spare parts/nuts/bolts bin and found two nuts that fit perfectly and weigh 4g each. The additional 8g total was just about perfect, and it cost me $.00! I blacked out the white lines too.

Do the weight still thread in all the way flush with the head?

Shouldn't the weight kit include an extra weight for the counterweight in the grip?

Not necessarily. That would make sense for those wanting to achieve the same swingweight as stock but most of us want heavier weights specifically to make it feel heavier than stock.

What he said.

When I get mine in, I may try this. Or, swap the grip for the Ping PP60. It's about 15g lighter than the Winn mid.

Yeah my P2 Aware Tour grip is only 51g so that did help a little.

Just took my dimed out 2W to the practice green and to my incredible surprise found it to be a little TOO heavy for me. Borrowed some guys Titleist wrench and took the dimes out and it felt too light. I was putting perfect with it before so I think it was just the immediate contrast after taking them out. I'm gonna leave it alone for now but might try to find some thin washers or something that weigh about 1g each and try to add just a tiny bit. I usually prefer ~360g heads since I play at 33" but I need to remember this grip is half the weight of the grip I used to play. I guess this might save me the $ on the weight kit though.

Ok, I put some of those tungsten rubber squares (golfworks)in the weights. Trimmed the corners for a cleaner fit. Each weight was increased by 3-4g. Very nominal but feels improved head weight with the counter weighted grip.
