He definitely needs to be a little smarter with his comments...... but honestly... who the F under the age of 40 watches  the senior tour?  I'll put on a kids show for my daughter before I watch the senior tour.  Even LPGA.

I don't watch the champions tour on TV, but love going to it in person. A lot fewer celebrity watchers and no buffoonish behavior by the fans. Attended by mostly  people that really appreciate watching pro golf.

Frankly Grayson, I'd go to a Champions Tour tournament before I went to the Aqua Velva tournament... Oh I mean Barbasol.

I’m 41 but have been watching senior tour since I first had espn in college. They show a ton of......... golf on the coverage. The PGA Tour is unwatchable most weeks. 4 minutes of commercials, show a putt on replay that doesn’t go in, Jim Nantz talks about something inane for the 20th time, commercial, come back to an “essay” by some idiot then go to another commercial. You can easily go 30 minutes and see 1 full swing and 5 putts on PGA Tour coverage. Seniors show nonstop golf - full swings, bunker shots, putts, everything. There is continuity to the coverage like you don’t get on the replay putt putt tour on cbs. I don’t know who can watch that travesty.

I am not defending what he said...I was just going to post his comments on the Senior Tour...but I think we as a society are becoming a bit too sensitive. He just stated his opinion...and it's not like he is a household name. What he said wasn't anything to get "outraged" over.

Do you think Bernhard Langer, or other CT players really care about Murray's opinion? Hell, they probably never heard of the guy.

Being "outraged" is becoming a national sport. lol

Everyone knows a loudmouth who’s full of opinions and then acts like they’re being picked on when people react negatively. Murray is just the current golf version.

Adults have a filter.  They think about consequences before speaking.  Guys who mouth off like to feel like not having a filter makes them more genuine when, in reality, they just don’t have the discipline to think first.

You can be funny and engaging and still keep some opinions to yourself.

Can I use this?  Fella at work likes to be “brutally honest” when he really is just too lazy to form an adult thought.

Sometimes these days i feel that too many people want to equate "just calling it as it is" with people who are just jerks.

It's a backlash against an overly sensitive "PC police" which i'll be the first to admit is nauseating. However praising someone for insensitivity as some champion of "honesty" is just the equally bad polar opposite of that behavior, not the cure for it.

There's a PGA pro who's come up in several threads recently who you could say the same things about....

There's nothing wrong with not being a jerk. And there's nothing wrong with laughing off mild humor here and there without being offended by it.

I couldn't agree more but I think in Murray's case, it might go a bit deeper.  He seems insecure to me and blames his own insecurities on everyone else.

I wouldn't recognize Grayson Murray if he showed up at my front door, but I would recognize a lot of guys on the Champions Tour.
