I'd guess the butt is stiffer on the Fubuki than the Thump as the Fubuki ax is more like a blueboard than the Thump

You saw the Russ Ryden review that I sent you?

Yes.

Rombax P95 is the only shaft that fits your criteria. Leave it untipped or minimally tipped.

Interesting.

I play a Nippon 950FW X in my 12* BB Mini 1.5, it's a very controllable powerful shaft (you do loose a little feel when you ease up powerwise, but still excellent in many ways).  I think it's fairly close to your criteria to warrant a look.  Cheers!

I vote for  the red tie in a 80 something gram weight.
Don't  forget the prolaunch red. It was a mid launch for me, because I didn't  tip it 1" like they recommended.

New thump? Review

I saw the other thread you had going and decided to keep quiet. But since you asked, I didn't have a good experience with the Thump. I had the 85x Original Model with Original Paint. Bought it new, no pull out. Everything I thought it would be, it wasn't. It is one of those shafts that you either love or hate, there is no middle ground.

So what did you end up with after the New Thump? If you're still not satisfied, I'd have to give an original Blueboard or a Grafalloy Blue a try. If you want something newer, I fully endorse the Veylix Rome and/or the Accra Tour Z.

Yea. Went Rombax P95X.

Maybe to help you out a little more ......

After I left the Fubuki Tour 83x, which I had tremendous success with for a few years, I went to the Original Blueboard 103X. Blueboard 103 didn't work out. Tried the Original Thump 85X. Didn't work out either.

The Blueboard 103X and Thump 85X felt very similar and performed similar as well.

After the Thump and Blueboard trials, I went back to Fujikura and went with the Rombax P95. Feels right. And performance is there when I'm swiging well.

Sooooo after all that, my coach made the recommendation to ditch Fairways and extend Hybrids. He knew I had a 16 Hybrid I hit pretty dang well, only really struggling with launch on bad days. So now, I'm playing 16, 20, 23 and 26 Hybrid. They are all shafted with Speeder TourSpec 904HB Originals! Let's just say they aren't going anywhere for a while!

The Kai'li 80X in the Driver...
The Speeder 904HB in the Hybrids....
And SteelFiber i110 in the Irons / Wedges....

Maaaaaaaaaaaay all be Holy Grails for me, very fortunate to have crossed paths with them!
