Hey everybody,

I had an interesting expierence testing SZ, M1, G400 lst, and my old school callaway tour issue BBAlpha. The only matched set up were the callaway drivers with similar lofts with Oban Kiyoshi White 75 x-stiff, the alpha tour issue crushed the SZ by about 10 yards! I was bummed cause I wanted to get a new driver, ho being a ho, lol! But the tour issue BBA beat everything. But the ping was a close 2nd.

Distance:
Winner: BBA tour issue
2nd: ping g400 lst, only 3 yards away from the callaway
3. M1
4. SZ

Spin:
Ping and callaway were about the same, I was surprised how much the m1 and SZ spun!

Looks:
Winner: ping, looks amazing!

Feel:
Winner: Ping was awesome

Sound:
Winner: Ping and callaway tied

Accuracy: ping and callaway basically tied.

The fitting wasnt great quality, the fitter had limited shaft offerings, but he tried to get as low/low as he could to match the Oban. Overall, very impressed with the ping g400 LS. I think with some tweaking, the ping could match the BBA tour issue, which say a lot about the the g400.

The only driver that can match or come close to the BBA, other than the g400ls, is the SLDR 430, but I like the muted sound of the BBA. Ping did a great job! So for now the BBA tour issue stays put! But I will try to optimize my numbers with the ping, cause that's what we do!

Played second round with G400 LST today - digital 7.5, 8 grams of hot melt in heel, GD Tour AD-BB shaft

The thing is simply stupid.

My playing partners couldn't believe the distance.

I couldn't get over the accuracy, feel and sick high flat bombs.

Are we on a honeymoon?  Yup.  Does it have to end? Lord I hope not!!

Played mens night tonight. Number 9 is a straight away par 5. My two longest drives of the year so far have been 150 out. Hole is 500 yards. Both drives were with the cobra bio cell + . Today i was 136 to a back flag. I ranged 360 to the tee box. G400 lst tour shaft. Club is the real deal. Its amazing how high and flat the trajectory is for me.

Placed an order for the LST w/ Oban kiyoshi White. Looking forward to getting this in and seeing the results compared to the trackman numbers.

Used my G400 LST with tour 65 shaft today for the first time. I can say, that it felt and sounded great. I thought my drives were pretty good, only played 9 and hit 4 out of 5 fairways, and this miss was not bad, first cut. I left the course thinking hmmm, didn't feel like I was swinging that great today-  definitely longer, and more accurate, just wish I was hitting it better, but when I compared the stats to my last two rounds, using my Garmin S60 watch with shot tracker, I averaged 21 yards longer!
Really amazing, can't wait to play 18.

Agreed.  I was the one defending the situation a week or two ago, but once people started getting their clubs that ordered weeks after me with the same head/shaft combo my patience dissipated quickly.  I know I should have patience because the date I was quoted has not arrived yet, but others have gotten theirs weeks or a month early so I feel like it is not unreasonable for me to adjust my expectations.

I'm in the same boat still waiting, have either of you customer service if so what was the response? I for life of me dont understand how I was in line so early and others who ordered well after I did have theirs.  Its frustrating, nothing can be done about it.

This is why I haven't ordered one, and probably won't till these issues are sorted out. It's like going to a restaurant only to see several tables seated after you get their drinks and orders taken before you even get a menu. Getting one off the BST will probably be faster lol.

I ordered a LST/XTorsion combination through one of the WRX sponsors on July 31; was told that expected ship date would be September 18.  Received a FedEx tracking number yesterday.  The club is on its way and is scheduled for delivery on August 15.

They didn't have the LST today at the demo day, so that was a little disappointing. I hit the regular G400 with the tour shaft and it felt nice. Definitely a much different sound than the G. But i wasn't hitting it further than the G LST

I did like the head shape though. Smaller than the G LST in terms of footprint. You might actually be able to fit a headcover on it

I too was at a demo day and they didn't have the LST, Tour shaft or the new driving iron...Why hold the demo????? I did hit the G400 and the Altra CB shaft, much too long. Wanted to place an order for the LST, but they wouldn't take the order. Said that when they get notice that the heads are available they would call me...WHAT!!! You don't want my $$$$$..Guess I'll just call DD and place an order..

I ordered mine in an 8.5 and hzrdus yellow on July 11 and it arrived yesterday (shipped on the 3rd).  It seems more are getting them.  I bet everyone gets them before their quoted shipping date.  Better to quote late and arrive early from a PR point of view I guess

A question on forgiveness.  When testing has anyone noticed a difference in forgiveness between the standard driver and the LST?  What did you notice whether it be subjective like feel or maybe hard number on a launch monitor?  Did this affect which driver you picked assuming you could get very similar number through set up?

In the past it's not so much the difference in the heads for me, but going to a slightly shorter stiffer shaft for control even if that may have lost a few yards.  I didn't notice a difference when testing, but for some reason I'm always rubbish on an indoor launch monitor and I've not had the chance to try them outside yet.

Maybe this is something which is marginal between the two heads that only show up with better ball strikers or higher ss.

I'd be very interested in you comments.  I'm so ocd as I get older and always second guessing myself.  Even so, ordered the 8.5 LST with the X-Torsion stiff.  Can't wait.

I did notice that LST is slightly less forgiving, some twisting (more like Epic), but the reduction in spin is what makes me trend to the G400. Very forgiving but not as forgiving as the G400.

Thank you.  When I played a standard G head I was struggling to get below 2900.  With the LST and tour 65 I could get that down to 2300.  I think the tour 65 made a big difference with strike being that half inch shorter.  The new 8.5 I was getting 2200.  I don't need to change but like many I want to.  I'm not striking the ball great at present, but put it this way, the difference in forgiveness won't turn a snap hook into a gentle fade.  It's a small enough difference in forgiveness that I feel better I've ordered the right head for me and tinker with shaft options later.

A question on forgiveness.  When testing has anyone noticed a difference in forgiveness between the standard driver and the LST?  What did you notice whether it be subjective like feel or maybe hard number on a launch monitor?  Did this affect which driver you picked assuming you could get very similar number through set up?

I'm tinkering a lot with setup, lower loft (9 deg), higher tee, and then swinging as if hitting on an upclimb to get launch up, spin down. FItter and I tinkered a lot with shaft -- still tinkering.

Just tried the 10* with Tour stiff and really liked it.   The regular G400 was good but not much different other than sound to my G25 with a tour shaft.   I had a gap fitting at Miles of Golf in Cincy last year and the fitter (Derek) said my numbers with the 25 were really good.  The LST has my interest peaked though as it was landing 5-10 yards further and could roll out more.

Hit the 8.5 LST with handcrafted HZRDUS black 6.5.. it's a monster but think I'm getting a 10 degree LST instead. Oh my it was as straight as an arrow.

Not sure. It was my buddy's G shaft in the Ping head. But I think that is a $200 upgrade
