January PGA Show would probably be the first official release of info.

So if they do release info in jan, then what are we looking at April 2018 release?   What are the chances of a new product in January?

Based on last many years, it is very likely Scotty will refresh the current Select line. I don't know if it'll be anything dramatic, I'm curious as well.

Yes, we are looking at 2018 April release.

I'm looking forward to the new releases as well.  I'm guessing nothing too drastic with maybe some new model/shapes thrown into the mix.  I think the insert will stay with a refresh on the graphics, grip, cover etc.  I think the red paint scheme is here to stay.

However, I am in no hurry to replace my 16 Select Newport.  I have been putting fantastic with it since Day 1, but I always like to see the new OTR releases.

According to their product cycle, you will see some updated Newport Selects in the spring.

I'm sure he'll continue the current line of "inserts" with the magic 3M tape, but please, oh PLEASE, make an additional line of solid milled heads with standard milling.
Please Scotty..........go back to what put you on the map in the first place. PLEASE.

I gotta admit SS + 3M tape + SS is weak.

Like it has been said before, If he were to release a solid milled, no insert, no weight port, Newport Line, I would buy again,,,

This stuff with weights, insert, wings, flaps, slats and aerospace plastic has run its course for many of us,,,,

I completely agree with you, except sadly I think many still like all that "extra" stuff still

I'm also afraid weights, inserts and multi material are here to stay.

I understand the inserts are cheap and just plain oh suck.  But why would weights bother anyone? Weights allow for so many different combinations it's great for the consumer, and you can't see them anyways.

Update: There will be a Left Handed Newport 2.  This will be the only Left Handed new Cameron coming out. He does not know how to create anything else for Left handed golfers.

I wish he'd drop the 3 dots. I would think spieth's putter has been given enough "Cameron" tv time that his name alone would be fine in the cavity. The 3 dots feel so outdated, imo.

Agreed, hate the inserts (other than terillium), but I think the weights are great. They allow you to fine tune the putter, I hope they don't go anywhere.

Not going to happen.  Sending putters to the custom shop for stamping is a cash cow and he's not going to give up three spots he can charge 30 a piece to put something in.

The only thing I don't care for from Scotty in the last 10 years is the inserts.  Other then that a couple more model choices and I'll keep buying them like usual.  If they have inserts I'll avoid

Wait, wait, wait... what about 4 dots! That's better than 3. (Apologies to Ecco)

I have a 35inch Futura 6m that i'll be looking to sell depending on what the new select offerings look like. Also will be looking to see what Bettinardi's new BB series will look like, at least you know it will be solid carbon steel. Just hoping its not a FIT face and they do more fly-mill.

I'll never understand how you guys putt beyond 10 feet with all this insert stuff. There's no distance control.

I agree here as well, you can't customize the new Selects with stamps in the dots either so maybe he can transition to something different in the cavity.  I'd love to see a simple "Cameron" or "Titleist" in the cavity but I'm sure that is a long shot.  I hate the inserts as well and I hate the Scotty Cameron engraved on the bumpers.  Just a nice solid simple design would be great, I like the weights in the sole as it allows customization for people.

I think we'll see more of the same though...

As someone who plays shorter putters, I love the weights. But, I've definitely had enough of inserts and the "jewelry" look of many of his putters. Let's go back to simplistic and attractive.

I think the next select line will be pretty similar but with a basic site line.  I imagine they will come out with a new color scheme and maybe a few changes to the necks/bent shafts.

I think the alum/ss combo design is here to stay for a little while since the weight design is scientifically designed to help MOI.

All I want is for them to release just ONE putter with some variation of a black finish. Tired of being blinded when putting around midday, and will not spend $300 dollars to send my putter in.
