This sounds fantastic to me.  A true game improvement club that will be forged packed with tech.  Woot.

I just saw the NEW C300 Forged Irons ...... OMG!!!!  - They are Absolutely gorgeous!!. - I can also confirm that there are definitely two varieties of the C300; Forged and cast. The forged version has such a look that you'd swear you are holding a players club versus a game improvement one. -- I was kindly asked to refrain from taking any photos of the clubs so I did.  You are gonna LOVE them .... TRUST ME!

Not yet. Probably won't be seeding them until early October or November. I know some of the pros have definitely been testing them though based off twitter posts haha

Hopefully the new C300 Forged is meant to compete with the AP2s of the world and not another forged GI iron.

If only they came in one length. I kind of regret not pulling the trigger on the current C300

What do you mean, another forged GI iron? Like what else is out there?

In terms of the type of player they are intended for the current W/S V6 would be their answer to the AP2.  My guess would be that the C300 forged might be meant to be more competitive w/the AP1's (even though those are not forged).

What you are referencing is more from a design standpoint.  If a player goes to a W/S fitter and says he is also interested in the AP2, then the V6 is the closest thing they have to it and again from the type of player they are intended for the V6 is it.  You can make an argument that AP2's and 716CB's are pretty much intended for the same level of player.  In the W/S lineup currently there are two irons intended for the better player - V6 and FG 100 blade.  The blade is due for a refresh before the V6 and I don't see W/S adding a 3rd better player iron.  The C designation stands for control in their lineup and are mostly intended for higher single digit caps and double digits.

I understand what you're saying now haha. Yes blades are getting an update as well as the c200 category. No idea if the supposed c300 forged is supposed to replace the f5 iron or not though. All questions I can't wait to ask later this month....

It sounds like the C300 forged would compete with the new AP3 and the C300 cast would compete with the AP1.  And I also agree that the V6 directly compares to the AP2.  I feel like a forged C300 would replace the FG Tour F5 and that Wilson Staff is sort of realigning their lineup - two players options (100 and V6), two GI options (C300 forged and cast), and two SGI (D300 and Defy).  I will certainly give the C300 a whirl as soon as it's out!

I really liked the size of C200. Every time I looked at them in the golf shop I was like "hmm, those look big", but at address they look fine, very confidence inspiring. If they feel as good as Fourteen 525 I might just buy Wilson... at full retail price and finally sell all my other sets!

Now, let's not get carried away ok?

It seems these may be a replacement for the F5's. The timing is right, and those did not really fit into the C or V category.

Hit the c300 forged last week at a pro am. Didn't think at the time to take pics. The staff rep was showing them around. Really a great looking iron from address and in the bag . I would say an ap2 competitor if you asked me. Soft feel and I'd need two gap wedges behind the pw  if that tells you anything about distance

Hit both new models yesterday and like some others was asked not to take pics...they will be out soon enough I'm sure the release date is January 15th currently...quite honestly both models were very nice...the forged were hard to put down...I wouldn't necessarily say ap2 maybe a little tweener more i200 esque with v6 being a tweener between cb and ap2...price wise aggressive c300 cast at $799 and forged at $899. I think Wilson fans will like them a lot and I'm sure there will get some unexpected sales because of looks, performance and price

Posted ImageIf the C300 is anything like this, then Wilson has a great club coming out this fall/winter
The c300 forged makes that look like a Cleveland VAS.  That's how good they look.
How's the nonforged look in comparison?

Hit the c300 forged last week at a pro am. Didn't think at the time to take pics. The staff rep was showing them around. Really a great looking iron from address and in the bag . I would say an ap2 competitor if you asked me. Soft feel and I'd need two gap wedges behind the pw  if that tells you anything about distance

they are long?? what was the shaft??

Hit both new models yesterday and like some others was asked not to take pics...they will be out soon enough I'm sure the release date is January 15th currently...quite honestly both models were very nice...the forged were hard to put down...I wouldn't necessarily say ap2 maybe a little tweener more i200 esque with v6 being a tweener between cb and ap2...price wise aggressive c300 cast at $799 and forged at $899. I think Wilson fans will like them a lot and I'm sure there will get some unexpected sales because of looks, performance and price

That is great to hear, thank for the 411.
Sure thing wish I had picks
