Interestingly I just tried a few of the 2015 TM Tour preferred and I have to say I like them a great deal. Are the new TP5's similar?

I am hitting the 2016 TP's ...nice ball!!!

Doh... yes that is the one I am just hit also not 2015, but 2016.

IMO, the TP5 is more similar to the 2016 TPX.  I have never played the TP so I cannot give a comparison there.

I'm working my way through a six dozen pile of 2014 B330RXS that I got a few months back for $24.00 on Amazon.

Intrigued by the Z-star going forward. Found a yellow one the other day on the course and played it for awhile. Liked the performance a lot.

I played the Bridgestone E6 soft and Bridgestone b330 RX today. Both golf balls seem to be viable Gamers for me. I like the Aesthetics more so on the b330rx than I do the E6 soft.

The putting line on the e6 soft could stand to be improved.

I've played most of the year with truvis chrome soft. The last 2 rounds I've played with the TP5x and hit some of my longest drives ever. This weekend I'm going to try the TP5 bc its softer than TP5x. I really like a softer ball on and around the green. I also have some Bridgestone B330RXS left and really liked that ball. Switched from pro v1 to RSX bc of durability of prov1
I'm definitely a golf ball snob, I'm always using a premium ball. I alway wonder why some of my buddies are not particular about golf balls

I like them all,  I really like the white and green sold at Dicks and GG.  I also have white - pink and white with red and blue Truvis.  They have pretty much covered most colors at some point along the way.
I like the look of the truvis but they only come in regular cs. If they had csx truvis that would be cool.

I agree the '16 TPX is a great ball. To me, the TP5 is an upgraded '16TPX and I have played them side by side along with the Chrome Soft X.

The TP5 and '16 TPX feel the same off of all clubs with similar distances. The only place I see a difference is around the greens where the TP5 spins more on chips and pitches. IF you love the '16 TPX you should love the TP5 and if you loved the '14 TPX you should love the TP5X. To me, these could be the exact same ball. I hope that helps, but its all feel and performance based with my swing.

Chrome soft, Prov1 or 1x. Played the original FG Tour for quite a while, but they changed it....
Wondering if the Duo U is any good? Gotta stop on the greens while being able to control the spin (Problem for the V1)

They do have the "x" in Truvis . At least Red/White as I have tried them

They do have the X in yellow/black Truvis as I have a couple of them that were mixed in with my regular yellow/lblack Truvis CS's.  I also had a few of the white/red in the X too.

I am on the edge as I think I like the X better then the regular CS one.  Now if I didn't have like 6 dozen yellow/black truvis in the regular CS, I would look for a few more X ones to try.  :)

Man, I wanna like the Truvis but they really mess with my head when I'm putting. The colored panels (yeah I know they're not a real soccer ball) make me wonder if I've got my line right. BTW I use the line on the ball to line up my putts. Freaky deal.

So weird - putting is why I love the Truvis.  Not so much for alignment, but for some reason I can see the speed I need better. My distance control is so much better putting with the Truvis.

I didn't find this an issue for me anyway and I too like putting with them.  I didn't care for the white/red ones but love the yellow/black ones.  :)

As mentioned, they do make the X in the yellow/black and white/red at least cause I have played both.  Not sure what other Truvis color's it is available in but I also play the solid yellow X ones and they are great too!

My first swing with the Truvis Red and White Chrome Soft X was as a provisional....ball went way right into the swamp/hazard.  Ball just wasn't for me.  LOL

I have a Yellow and White (non x)  I have yet to try.  Started using the line and can't get away from it for putting, so not sure if I will like it.

Chrome Soft and Chrome Soft x. Both are similar and not a world of difference. Regular CS feels a little better and the X probably spins a little more. Played some Vice Pro Soft lime recently and they’re pretty good but I’m not gonna go out if my way to get any if they’re not in stock. I would try the new Titleist AVX but at the price they’re asking it just isn’t worth it. Pro V is probably the best performing ball but I don’t like all that spin and I really don’t think they’re worth their price either. IMO.

After going back and forth between TM TP5 and Snell MTB this summer, the MTB has come out on top. Time to order couple dozen more.

I have narrowed down to 2 balls I will game:

Chrome Soft Truvis - Best all around performance for me.

Srixon XV 2017 -  Best ball for windy conditions and very straight

Balls are not the same but both seem to improve my scoring and confidence

** I still have some others I like that I will use for scrambles or practice = Maxfli U/6 (very good bang for buck)

I've normally been a "ProV1 or bust" type of person - warranted or unwarranted it was just the ball I liked. But this season I tried the Callaway Chrome Soft and while there is no real difference off the tee and marginal difference (200rpm and 5yds on average according to the launch monitor) with the mid-irons, I have recorded a significantly higher spin rate with the Chrome Soft in my short irons and wedges (750-1000rpm) with a noticeable differentiation of feeling between the two. I like the way the Callaways feel softer within 150yds and I can get them to stop easier.

Staff 50 elite is a solidball for what they cost esp if you enjoy softer feeling ball. I can get them to grab and stay on approach shots obv not same performance around greens as v1 etc but for the price cant go wrong.

I have been testing out the Srixon qst for the latter half of this season and can't seem to warm up to it completely. I have heard other posters claim it has some distance issues, and frankly, I have found the same thing. On Center of face hits it goes just fine, but when you hit it off center of the clubface it seems to suffer distance wise more than other golf balls, like the b330rx that I am also considering. It's funny how one golf ball is so much different than another in terms of off-center hits but it seems to be true with the qst

Right now i'm using the Wilson Staff ZIP line, but i'm really curious in trying out the Vice Pro / Pro Plus / Pro Soft. Those are probably my next purchase as I've heard nothing but great reviews.
