Long story short, 3 months, 3 faces dented/caved in. All in the same relative spot. A 430, 440, and now a 460. Just out by the toe a bit. Beyond frustrated. Can immediately tell it happens as the driver goes dead in sound, feel, and distance... ugh.

Time for something new...

That's more impressive to me. What kind of distances are you getting? I say keep getting them replaced until they hire you.

I play at high altitude so my distances are skewed... but 330-340 is fairly average... my swing speed is about 117-119 with the driver.

As long as they keep replacing I guess it's not too bad, however it annoying going thru it so often.

I wonder if DJ and other tour guys don't get a little different club? Or maybe they just go through stock and find them the best? It would certainly make news (and not good news) if the tour guys were breaking club heads in the middle of rounds. That has got to be the most annoying part of this, having to finish a round without your driver. Unless it is breaking at the driving range, and if so, is there a range ball issue?

I could def see range balls being a issue perhaps, however what are you suppose to do, never hit or practice with the driver? Our range balls aren't the hardest I've seen out there though either. Last Friday I did it during warm up pre-game which basically ruined me mentally. Granted I only hit 3-5 drivers per round so it wasn't a big deal for the round, just more of the annoyance and disbelief that a2nd head did it in just a couple weeks. Today was during a practice session between teaching lessons.

Spoke to a TM demo tech and he said they hadn't heard of any issues, even on tour...

I'm convinced this is the real issue with people caving in faces on drivers and 3 woods. Crap range balls.

I mentioned that to him and he immediately said that should not be an issue at all.

We've had issues with M1 drivers & 3 woods as well as Epic drivers and 3 woods here at my club. All failures have occured on the range by players with 115+ head speeds so I would venture to say it's the balls fault.

Strangely enough some of the Sub-Zero failures are because the screw in head weight can't take the kenetic energy impulse at impact. This has nothing to do with the balls hardness.

Sorry to revive this thread - but I'm moving on to my 3rd M1 of the season due to face caving in the upper toe side. The next head that they are sending me is a tour head, thanks to my coach at the TM development center pulling a few strings. Everything I have read has said that tour heads aren't different - just characterized more accurately. I'm concerned this is going to happen again. With that being said, I get a new driver every 6 weeks. Taylormade customer service has been excellent.

This last failure happened after very minimal range use.

Ask your coach to help you stop drop-kicking your driver into the ball high and off the toe....issue solved....

Sorry pal, Dad passed 10 years ago....so no, not mad....time for a new coach for you though! Friend is a TM rep, and according to him, any warranty issues that have dents or cave out there are specifically from people hitting in that area....repeatedly
