Hi.

I am in the San Fran area Fri/Sat next week looking for some good value and quality practice facilities. I am recovering from a minor arm operation and not quite able to hit full shots as yet so will be spending a couple of mornings purely working on my short game.

Does anybody know anywhere that fits the bill and if so what facilities/prices I would be looking at?

Many rhanks,
Matt

If you don't mind going across the Bay, I like the facilities at Metropolitan.  Grass driving range and a really nice short game area.  Down on the Peninsula I like the driving ranges in San Bruno and Foster City.  Both has nice short game areas and have grass ranges (for a fee).

If you are just hitting a few chips and putts then you can go to either Harding or Presidio and use their short game area

I second Metro. Its near Oakland Airport and in my opinion has the best public practice facilities in the bay. I believe Cal golf team practices their as well. If your not renting a car you can BART to Coliseum then its only a short uber ride over.

Enjoy the Bay area its been hot.

The above answers are good.  In Marin, Peacock Gap has a nice grass driving range.

Hot weather will probably be gone by the time you get here.

PS, no one around the Bay Area calls it "San Fran", unless they just arrived.  :)
