They all beat a bunch of people who were supposed to be good.

Who is Michael Campbell?

His 05 season automatically removes him from this discussion.

He had 3 top tens in majors that year, beat Tiger to win one.

8 Euro tour wins and a world matchplay title.

Plenty of major champs with worse resumes than his IMO.
I think that's why he gets my vote, and the fact he is totally irrelevant now says wonders.
What??? Cambo had a fine career for crying out load! He's just retired as that's what happens when you get older...so all what he did from 93 to about 2006ish is irrelevant??  Wish I was that irrelevant

There are a lot of one time major championship winners.

It's unfortunate that his brother brought so much negative press.   Some people will hold those words against him for the rest of his career.

In his brothers defense it was very funny.

No. Prob that Curtis guy who took a British Open that one year. My pet peeve is the guys who come out of nowhere, have a little success, maybe win a tournament or two, golf media insists they're the next Big Thing, then they go into witness protection. Announcers drive me crazy with that ish.

His game stinks right now. But it sure didn't last year in April. Right now though, if I was really on for a round he'd probably only beat me by 10-15. To keep it in perspective.

These guys are very good and if you played on a tough tour set up course you would be lucky to get within 30 strokes of him. Even if you played well and he played poorly.

Birdie Kim and Hillary Lunke might have it locked down as the worst major champions.  Shawn Micheel is a worse major champion than Danny Willett.

Agree with that, he won't be the "worst" major champion winner but if he can't come out (especially at the Masters) and throw up a top 10, he will be lost in the shuffle.

I'd put Trevor Immelman ahead of Willett in the forgettable stakes. Doesn't help that Immelman won what was possibly the most boring Masters of all time. Not his fault of course but it didn't help.

He's only 29, it's hard to deal with the added pressure of being a major champion. Lee Westwood didn't win a major, but went from top 10 in the world to outside the top 200 at that age, then came back to become World No 1. Stenson couldn't hit within 50 yards of the fairway off the tee at one point in his career.

Give him a while to get it back.

Cut Willett some slack people.

He is only 29 years old and is going through a tough patch in his young career.

I believe he will regain some consistency in the future.

In music, a one hit wonder does not make the song any less awesome. Willett was freaking amazing.

Yeah, the song can be awesome, but we're talking about the performer here.

One hit/major does not an awesome musician/golfer make.

Try making a living being a musician. Having one hit is pretty awesome. On the other hand, there are many singer/song writers who have had multiple hits who are totally not awesome.
The absolute perfection of existence, life, and aesthetic beauty is the work not only of evolution but of a powerful being.

I know it's been pointed out regularly but how can shooting 67 on a Sunday and winning by 3 clear shots be described as 'backing into a major'?
