Hi! I've been offered a great deal on a PXG Gunboat Darkness putter.. used by my cousin, for only 2 rounds, looks MINTY new.. he's letting it go for 550$. Should I take the offer? He lives a bit far from me so I can't exactly test it out... Anybody has had any good/bad experience with this putter?? For the price I think I may just jump at the chance before he changes his mind. Thanks thanks.

Looks like you can do better...especially if his alternative is to sell it on eBay and forfeit 10% in eBay commission

the one on ebay is cheaper sure, but his' is the limited darkness version.. I can't really find a negative post on the overall performance of the putter, so super tempted. Not many of the Darkness models for sale, right? So I don't really have a baseline for the price...

I have the Gunboat H putter and it is the most balanced mallet type putter I've ever used. Had a Rife 2-Bar putter for a long time before this one and liked it a lot. But really love over-all feel of the Gunboat H.

Just don't drop it! Kidding. What did the special darkness edition sell for and what makes it different from the standard model?

Do it! Can't go wrong with the limited version if that's the putter you're eying. Nice and heavy putter that's super stable. Plus if u don't. You'll just keep thinking about it. Haha

Retail was $750 on the Darkness Gunboat. I just sold mine for $750 but i didn't pay retail for it originally. Lol i used it one round. I liked it fine too but i have a lot of putters and since i was making money by selling it, i figured no biggie. Its a great putter though

I have a normal Gunboat, but also saw a darkness 'Boat at a dealer and rolled a few.

I've had the Gunboat since October - it's the present gamer and I have good distance control and aim with it. Just get the grip you like and length and balance. Mine was originally 36 inches, and I cut it to 35, and put a 50g counterweight in it to lighten the head, which helped with distance control. Also installed a Rosemark grip. Very manageable now.

honestly i prefer the neck style of the H model.. but the normal neck isn't too bad to look at either. Any discernible difference for those who tried both styles??

I like a no offset short hosel model and would have liked to see the H Model and roll with it. May depend on what fits your eye.

Pretty sure toe hang is different. The darkness h i had eas with the slant neck and it had like a 1/4 toe hang. Think the double bend version is face balanced

The double bend is face balanced; one reason I would have liked to try the H version.
