Great show, season 3 episode 8 had me riveted to my seat last night. At first I thought the accents sounded ridiculous but after watching three seasons, yes they basically do sound exactly like we do here in Minnesota. I also didn't realize how much organized crime has a stronghold in northern Minnesota.

You do realize that the advertised "true" aspect of the show is just a disclaimer adopted from the original movie as directed by the Coen brothers, right?

None of the show is based on specific/actual events.

In a 2014 interview, the show's Executive Producer Noah Hawley clarified the "true story" episode introductions by saying "the show.... It's all just made up. The whole cloth. I didn't go looking for [a] true crime. It started from a character standpoint and everything grew organically out of that."

The first season of Fargo is the best tv series I have ever seen.  I liked season 2, and season 3 started slow but is delivering now.

I've never seen the movie Fargo, I need to break down and watch it.

I'd rank them 2,1,3. This season is still good, just not as good.

It was filmed in Calgary and southern Alberta. Some of the city shots definitely look like Calgary, but I'm not familiar enough with the city to pinpoint the locations.

Yup they parked the trailers at the golf course I'm at over the winter when the filmed season two. Our HP got a couple nice fargo mugs and nice letter from one of the producers.

I think most of the city filming was done on the east side.
