A nine year old in our group a couple of weeks ago had one of these and he played well with it.  I would only wonder if a proper fitting might increase distance and accuracy over buying this driver off the shelf.

That was my thinking as well. He likes the driver, and hits it well but part of me is still thinking a custom driver with a men's head and a flexible shaft might be better for distance. He just turned 10 but is a really good golfer.

I would go and buy a used senior or ladies 12 degree G30 driver on eBay and cut it down for him. The best deals I see right now for drivers is to get a ladies HL (high launch) Aeroburner with ladies flex on  Ebay I am pretty sure they can be brought for less then $100.  Can't really get a better driver for a kid.  If weight is an issue then just stick with the driver in the junior set because distance is not your problem.
