I decided to order the itobori black edition driver and a few wedges, mainly because I think the design is cool and I wanted to try them out. Tourspec still lists them on their website so I placed my order and then received an email saying that my order had been cancelled because of the issues regarding itobori lying about the manufacturing process, and that Tourspec no longer orders from them.

I see that they have mixed reviews here as well, with the driver having mostly good things said performance wise. Has anyone played the wedges or driver and had a good experience?

He's a talented grinder and his stuff looks really cool.  But, he's just getting blanks from China and doing his thing  to them.  Probably not worth the prices he's charging but I guess you're getting something that most don't have.  I'd spend my money on higher quality club makers and forego the bling if you're going to spend that kind of money.  This guy is charging prices as if he's CNC milling clubs.

I found that out lol.

I am curious why they still list them on their website given everything that has happened.

Pls remember that tsg was supposed to be some kind of global marketing agent for itobori and then, all was good, great craftsmanship, stuff made in Japan and they had  NO issues with the markup (surprise!!!!) then.  Now that relationship  appears to have soured and ito is crap.  The good and bad from the same source at different times.  Who is telling the truth or lying?

To advertise at a price never intended to sell at, drive traffic and emails like yours and then see if you are interested in a better product they have for sale in its place.  Just a guess, not saying that is the case but basic business practices would indicate that it would be.  Not even a knock on tsg if that is the case, it is normal sales and marketing.

Are your clothes really 30% off?  Once in the store, you ever get something else because your foot was in the door?

I would guess that kind of thing.  I still can't make up my mind if itobori is cool or not to me.....which is not a bad thing I guess.   I did think blanks were kyoei tho?

I can't help but feel Tourspec is being shady regarding their practices. Sure you may "turn" someone to another product, but if you truly have an issue with a manufacturer and clearly aren't offering their product for sale, keeping the traffic moving to you site is disingenuous. The ill will felt by consumers during this practice will far outweigh any benefit.

If you have an issue with a supplier, simply remove them from your site.

I'd be surprised if Honma's Tour World irons are forged somewhere else.  They have a proprietary forging process called W-forging that no one else is doing.  I guess if they own a forging plant in another country that they could control the process and the quality.  Wherever their clubs are made, they put a fantastic finish on their irons and their specs have been right on the money from what I've purchased.  Their product is right up there with Miura, Epon, and other boutique brands.

Bait and switch is not a normal business practice to drive traffic.

Inflated "regular" price, then the 30% off (or whatever) is much less unscrupulous IMO, and that falls more in line with normal practice. But not the same at all as a bait and switch, where you advertise a product you can't/don't sell.

Precisely. TSG clearly has a poor relationship with Itobori but maintaining the items on their site just serves as an invitation for them to bash Itobori. Their issues do not concern me and I did not appreciate the fact that I placed an order, was excited, and then was told that they would not sell the products. Take them off of your website.

I haven't seen one set on yahoo auction, and I really frequent yahoo auction.  I feel like these are made for export and not JDM boutique?  Nothing against them at all, but I want to answer that yahoo auction is the only place to go if not tour spec (And don't mind used of course) but I just realized I have never ever seen them on there for any club.

Congrats again.  This head launches a tad lower to others loft for loft so get a shaft that caters to that.

Plan is to mate it with an elements chrome

Hope it works out for you.  I've got a Crazy 9 Dia in mine.  Probably could use a shaft with a low kick point and more active tip but the combo just looks too sweet.   Its probably my longest combo on pure hits.

Hahaha, stranger danger used correctly describing a golf retailer!  Great.

"Show is on the doll where he inappropriately touched you, it's ok, be strong"......as golfer sheepishly and slowly points to the dolls wallet.

Tourspec is all about being "100% made in Japan".  They had their beef with Itobori and when I messaged them about their Itobori products they had on their site, I too was denied purchasing any Itobori product and the owner, Chris, started bashing Itobori and their products saying most of it is made in China. Unprofessional in my eyes. I mean Callaway and Taylormade equipment are "made in China" yet are outstanding clubs!

I was able to find the limited blue Itobori driver online for a decent price and let me tell you, it's a bomber!!  Also hit it on the Trackman along side my Tour M1 440 and with the same swing speed of 108-111 MPH, I was getting 2-3 mph ball speed more from the Itobori. Plus it's a definite head turner when I busted it out on the golf course!

Sorry...I'm new to golfwrx, need to figure out how to add pictures
