The new (2018) Crosstrek looks interesting. Not in dealers yet from what I understand, but coming soon.

New Crosstrek does look interesting.  I'm going to wait to drive one before I pull the trigger on an Impreza.

Nice. I'm waiting to see one. What options did you get?

I went with the premium model, only one option - CVT,  and white exterior/black interior.  I like orange (Clemson alum), but I didn't want to hear my girls complain since this will be their car in a few years.

I'd stay far away from Chevy.

Agree, Honda will most likely last longer than two Chevy's.

I never understand the "stay away from xyz" brand sentiment. Everyone has their buddy who got a dud from this or that company. Not big enough sample size

Plenty of quality/reliability data for car brands is available via Consumer Reports, etc.

Chevy is usually middle of the pack at best.

3 pages and no mention of the wrx on golfwrx?  I know they don't make the hatch anymore but you could get a 2014 for well under your budget. It was my all time favorite car and wish I never got rid of it. Thought I had to go bigger into an SUV when kids came along but they are roomier than you think. I could fit my clubs in there with only taking out the driver. I currently went back to the hot and got a focus st. It is another really fun car to drive but not quite as awesome as the wrx. I also have to take out any club that has a headcover to fit into the trunk. With a seat down you can fit 3 people and bags but it's pretty tight.
