Every once and a while I have Animal from the muppets, and a TM USA for the driver . I have always stayed away from the manufactures hc's, because if they are not paying me why should I advertise from them ! Putter cover, non existant, they are so annoying !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been looking at the fantastic pictures of the Pro Bags.  There quite a mix of headcover styles and preferences.  What looks the best?

1.  Name Brand OEM Headcovers advertising your loyalty and presumably the model year of the clubs,

2.  Pom Pom Headcovers which never go out of style

3.  Stuffed Animal/Character cover which presumably communicates "something"

4.  Or another commemorative/special/unique cover?

Don't try and tell me that the look isn't important.   If you wish, please share what stye you employ.

Thoughts?

PS  First post so go easy on me...

I switch the driver often.  Mascot headcover from college, Titleist Japan headcover, and a Daphne's Donkey which I thought was funny.

3-wood.  Usually a Ping fuzzy cover.  I have a plain black one and a couple from college.

Putter - Scotty Cameron "Hula Girl" from 2007.  I wanted something that would stand out.
Titleist 913 D3 9.5* Fuji Motore TS 6.2X
Taylormade HFS Diamana Blue 83X

OEM for me - but I just ordered an FSU arrow for my driver.  As far as thievery, I simply keep the rain hood attached and zip it up whenever I'm away from my clubs, which I try to never let happen.

Curently my old faithful Daphne's Great Dane (sort of a canine version of Marvin the Paranoid Android with his hangdog expression) and one of several old Ping covers. Red is the current colour of chioice, but there are all sorts of hues in the stash of a dozen or so.

Note to Daphnes: Please make a GSD headcover that looks like a GSD rather than the illegitimate child of a rat and a hedgehog.

One of several SC covers graces the putter - an old Pro Platinum doing the honours at present.

I actually have that very Yoda cover, bought for me last year by my fiancee. Sadly, it doesn't fit the driver very well, and sort of slips off over time so it's not in use. I could stick it on the 3 wood I suppose, but I like to swap the old Ping covers around for a bit variety.

The Darth Vader cover is a good one though; although the Chewbacca one has a hint of Yorkshire Terrier about it...

THe LPGA pros have all the fun with the myriad options they get with all those woods in the bag. I only get two... Bah.

I was debating whether paying the money for a Jan Craig headcover was worth it, or if the knit headcovers at Golfsmith ($19.95 for three) would do the job.

I ended up ordering Jan Craig headcovers for my driver and fairway wood.  I chose charcoal grey for the body, black stripe(s) and silver, grey and navy blue 5" pom poms.

My older daughter, visiting from Michigan, is an avid knitter.  When she saw the headcovers she said she could make me more if I wanted them.  I put an order into her for three hybrid headcovers.  She's going to get patterns from some of the knitting forums she belongs to.  This will make a great Christmas present since I'll buy the yarn, and she'll supply the work.

I usually play with what comes with the club...and since the Nickent Square is so big it can only be covered with what it comes with, or a shoe-box...I choose the brand cover.  When I get the Nickent Supermag I think I am going to try to find a lobster or something else really funny.  I hate the Pom Pom look.
I ended up getting one of the Butthead covers...an Ostrich!  I get a ton of compliments on it every round.

I'm a head cover ho, without a doubt.

Current rotation:
Driver - Como!Come! pom/TM TP magnetic cover
4 wood - OEM sonartec driving cavity headcover with the zipper/ Rocket Tour pom
3h - Hogan OEM
4h - Rocket Tour skinny stick

Regarding the poms: I've had Jan Craigs and rocket tours - both are nice with JC winning on quality between the two. Just received a 2008 Como!Come! pom headcover as a gift and it blows away both the JC and RT.  The quality is amazing - thicker than the JC and it has extra material around the head for additonal protection.

I only use the poms when the weather is nice, however.  I usually walk and they get heavy and unwieldy when wet. The magnetic TP headcover from Taylor Made is nice but not the easiest to get on. The sonartec with a zipper is the best OEM headcover ever, easy to get on and off and very slim in the bag.

Will probably replace the hybrid covers with the stealth mini hybrid covers - nice and small.

I only carry driver, 16 degree hybrid and a putter that use covers.  I have Jan Craig's on my driver and hybrid but at least I got the college golfer discount on them...$100 or whatever they normally charge for 2 covers is a lot.  I have been using them for 3 years now and they're pretty worn but still no holes just discoloration.  My Cameron just uses an older all black Cameron Art of Putting cover since the stock one velcro is worthelss now.  I mainly decided to go with Jan Craigs because the stock driver cover was terrible...I cannot stand zippers and nothing to protect the shaft.

I would have no problem using OEM covers if they were like the old school cat in the hat covers from Titleist.  I don't ever really leave my clubs laying around outside or anything so I don't think anyone has the opportunity to steal my stuff.  I never understood that argument, where do you guys leave your clubs?  I take my clubs out of the car, play golf and then put them back when I'm done.  If I'm going inside to the bar to drink a beer or 5 I always put my clubs back in the trunk.

Crab putter cover by Daphne.

Generic black NIKE III cover for the 3 wood.

OEM SasQuatch cover for the driver.  Used to use the generic black NIKE I cover when I had a smaller driver.

And no cover for my Bridgestone AirMuscle 2 iron.  It falls off too often.

I have the Daphne Dragon on my driver (named Dante after either the poet or the guy from Grandma's Boy) and now use one of the old Furry Ping headcovers, white with the shaft protection sleeve thing (whatever its called)  Had a blue/yellow rocket tour that went great with my bag but it tore.

I would love a yellowjacket without the Georgia Tech on it, plus it needs to be blue/yellow not black/yellow.  If ANYONE knows where i can find one, that would be great.
