I have been looking at the fantastic pictures of the Pro Bags. There quite a mix of headcover styles and preferences. What looks the best?

1. Name Brand OEM Headcovers advertising your loyalty and presumably the model year of the clubs,

2. Pom Pom Headcovers which never go out of style

3. Stuffed Animal/Character cover which presumably communicates "something"

4. Or another commemorative/special/unique cover?

Don't try and tell me that the look isn't important. If you wish, please share what stye you employ.

Thoughts?

PS First post so go easy on me...

Crustations for me. I have two Lobster head covers (Driver and Fw) mostly because I grew up in the Lobster Capital of the World.

Can't forget....

Kind regards,

I like stuffed animals and pom poms. I have a fish for my driver, because I am an avid fisherman.

Pick a golf bag first, then match Pom Poms to match the colors. 8" Pom for driver and 5" Pom for three wood. You will be happy with two poms and the utility wood headcovers should be hidden by the large poms.

Good luck finding bold colors to make bag look sharp.

Good question. I keep the following headcovers in my rotation;
-Cleveland HiBore (Driver)
-Ping G2 (3-wood)
-Ping G5 (hybrid)
-Rodney Ram (Virginia Commonwealth University Mascot)
-Peedee the Pirate (East Carolina University Mascot)
-Rocket Tour Skinny Stick Black and Yellow
-ECU Nylon Driver Cover
-VCU Ram Putter Cover
-Philadelphia Eagles Neophrene Driver Cover
-Odyssey Tempest Blade Cover
-Odyssey White Hot XG Blade Cover
-PING G2 Driver Cover
-Stealth Hybrid Cover

For the most part, if I am walking I use the OEM covers because they take up less space. The rest of the time, I use Peedee, Rodney, Rocket Tour and the G5 cover...I know...too much info...

Pom POM and tassels for me. The EOM stuff would work great but I don't like to advertise the content of my bag to all the freaking club snatchers that seem to be omni present at most courses in South Florida.

I like the Rocket Tour Poms, the skinny Sticks for hibreds and the team effort College mascott headcovers.

I currently have all Rocket Tour poms on Driver and 3 wood and skinny Sticks on hybreds.

I have Colorado, Iowa, and Wisconsin masscot covers in waiting. I think it might look good to do a University color sceme mascott headcover and coordinating poms in University colors.

Anything but the company provided covers...not that my clubs are worth major $$$ or that I ever let them out of my site at the course, but a bag full of company headcovers screams 'steal me'.

My driver has an Air Force headcover part of the year (my grandson serves in the Air Force) or a Boston Redsox cover during baseball season. My 3 wood has a cover from The Gallery, site of the Match Play.

My Scotty hides behing an ASU Sun Devil cover.

I agree that I will never have a manufacturer's cover. Why advertise for the thieves.

I'm mostly about the "special" class as I like to rock the GolfWRX AM&E specials (w/ my logo) on my woods and putter. I'll sometimes use the OEM driver cover, if it's particularly nice or really easy to put on/take off (think Hibore), or possibly a frou-frou animal driver cover. But AME's hybrid and fairway covers are particularly nice, and their putter covers are pretty much the standard.

Either way, good first topic there, Rook. :good:

2nd on the Parfect headcovers. They make them to your color choices and they are very well made. Matched them to my bag and it looks sweet.

I voted for Pom's I have a mix of Rocket Tour Pom's and facotry covers, I'm not against animal/cartoon covers, but for me it has to be something unique, and only on the three wood for me, if I could find the Kellogg's Corn Flakes Rooster head cover I would put that on my 3 wood, as my nick names is Kellogg's. Or if I could find a RedBull cover I would game that too.

Stuffed animals rock! I´ve got so many of them. I´d say about 7-10 animalcovers total. And also I´ve got the oemcovers but I don´t like them as much. Here are the current "gamers" :partytime2:

I have been pretty much an OEM Cover guy. I have been given a few covers recently so I feel
a bit obligated to use them. So.. the Driver is now sporting a Gorilla Head Cover.

Hopefully, it will remind me not to swing like one....

i have a cool penguin on my three wood. My son picked it out, and gets a kick out of it....so i keep it. the driver and hybrids are all oem (tour edge) and the putter has a hot bettinardi ornage cover.

Just as an aside to all of you who are worried about getting your clubs stolen....you can cover them on your Homeowner's policy under a rider. I think i pay 100 bucks a year to cover my whole bag!!

Can you share pics of the Supercow headcover? Sounds like a cool idea. Most of the animal headcovers alone are quite boring but adding a bit of personal touch will go along way.

If I recall correctly there was also a guy here that created his own headcover out of a family guy stuffed dog.

When i go to the muny courses that i might think club snatchers are lurking at, i put on a mix of RAM, Tommy armour and Mac burrows, old old callaway (original big bertha), Knight, etc etc. headcovers that i got off of e-bay you may want to try that.. and of course never ever leave your bag out of your sight or within hands reach for any amount of time..

I still use my Jan Craigs which are 15-20 years old, they have held up very well. With the increase in club size I use the driver cover as a 3 wood now and have added a Tiger head cover which has a 85th pga championship seal on it. I would like to replace it w/ another tiger head cover from one of the major championships. I can't say enough about the Jan Craig covers, yes they are a little pricey, but as you can see they last. I would pick a netrual base color so when you change bags they will look great.

I have a Ping G10 and had a G5 before that. The head cover that comes with these offers no shaft protection. I picked up a Cleveland Launcher head cover off Ebay. It protects the shaft and confuses the competition.

I usually play with what comes with the club...and since the Nickent Square is so big it can only be covered with what it comes with, or a shoe-box...I choose the brand cover. When I get the Nickent Supermag I think I am going to try to find a lobster or something else really funny. I hate the Pom Pom look.
