Didn't Phil have a Callaway prototype hybrid like this in his bag a couple years ago?

It looks sweet!

Almost like it's designed to hit out of heavy rough at a tournament in which he's not playing
Glove: ML
Tees: 2 3/4
Towel: white
Repair tool:  metal
Ball Marker: largest poker chip in the world
Iron headcovers: wait, what?

The feedback system is annoying

Looks like a cross between a Wishon with the sole relief and a TEE Trilogy with the V leading edge.

This hybrid is not new and actually was designed and put in the bag in 2009.  It's almost 8 years old.  He put it in the bag before the Bethpage Open.

Yep. Definitely an older prototype for Phil. He hit some crazy shots with this club. It was designed for crazy thick rough.

First thing I noticed.  I wonder if he uses the SuperSpeed program, or uses the sticks for another purpose (to get loose or something else).

There was also in old CAD drawing from back in the day that was posted online.  This prototype design shaped the original X-Hot Pro hybrid.

It looks like he has a steel shaft in it.  It could be the iRod, which he has played in his Apex UT the last couple years.

I like how clean it looks compared to all the new Epic stuff.

I would bag this in a heart beat.  Course I play a lot has rough that's over shoe height, and it's super hard to dig it out with a wood or even normal sized hybrid. Something smaller with that sole would be awesome to really hit down and muscle it out.

The best thing about this club was it was designed with mass removed from behind the leading edge so Phil could open it up and basically hit a quasi flop hybrid.

Just get yourself a RAZR X hybrid from Callaway Pre-owned.  This was basically the prototype for that production Club.

It looks sweet!

Exactly my thoughts when I saw it.

Really looks like its built for a US Open.  Given he usually has been bagging the Anser around 17*, you figure this is built for those extra long par 4's when the driver gets a little wild.

Greg, with all due respect the front page article from WRX on this club directly says the opposite of what you are suggesting.  To quote:  "That raises the question: is this something new or something old from Callaway?"  Maybe you should read the article:  http://www.golfwrx.c...allaway-hybrid/

Why so combative?  All I pointed out is that this is an old club from 2009.
