Need some help here. Some of the longest drives I have hit this year I couldn't help but notice were with a prov1x. I dont normally play them but treat myself sometimes. But here is my dilemma.   I would like to play a ball that plays like a prov1x until you get to the green.  Don't really worry about stopping it on the green. Usually play for rollout anyway.

The soft 2 piece balls I normally play while they feel nice hitting them, they seem to go higher than they go out. On the flip side, the topflite bomb while it feels harder, it just feels like butt when playing it. So does anyone know of a ball that feels like a prov1x when you hit it especially with a driver ?  Thank you

Try and find leftover Nike RZN black golf balls. I swing about 110-112 driver but prefer touch around the greens. It has become my go to and was actually longer than the provx. They can be had very cheap at Edwin watts and some other chain stores now.

Try the Snell MTB. I think it performs similarly to the Pro-V-1X from previous years. I haven't played the '17 model of the "X: as yet, but I've heard it's different.
My pro just recommended the TP5X so I bought a dozen, but haven't tried them as yet.

I would try something from the Titleist line. Maybe a Pinnacle Rush?

TP5x probably fits the bill, but it's in the same price range. Maybe give the penta urethane a try? Supposed to be the predecessor to the TP5x, I played one the other night and felt it didn't spin a ton around the green.

I have tried all sorts of balls to see what measures up to ProV1x, and always come back to ProV1x.  But I understand anyone's reticence regarding their cost.

Thanks guys. I may just bite the bullet and keep the 1x in play. Even though according to titleist my swing speed and that ball doesn't match, I just like how they fly off the driver.

I have not tried the pinnacle rush but I have the soft and they just go straight up for me like other soft balls.

As far as Nike goes, I don't want to get used to a ball and like it that is discontinued.

I am working on my game and want to get away from the soft 2 piece balls that feel like a marshmallow when you hit them. I may look into the tp5 or whatever it is that got good reviews on here.

where are you.. I might have a couple of C4's that I would just send you.. I went back to playing the Srixon Zstar... That way you could try the C4... if you like it you could start buying some.  I will have to look in my locker, I think I had 3 or 4 balls left.. just a heads up, if I do have them, they have been dyed yellow...

Snells are awesome.  Get the 6 dozen and split them with a friend.  When your stash is gone, you'll regret splitting.

I have been thinking of trying the Pinnacle Rush. As far as the prov1x, they are definitely a great ball for distance, as well as green/spin quality.
Funny combination I use, TF XL Distance accompanied by the ProV1X (used). The TFs go long and straight for me.

2017 Srixon XV are incredible off driver. Haven't hit the V1x but the XV beats every ball I've played.

Thanks for all the ideas guys.

I have not tried the pinnacle rush, but have the soft. They just seem to balloon on me on all clubs.  They do feel good though.

I have tried the next tour.  I played it when it first came out and off and on through the years, they just seemed over priced to me.

I just got a box of snells in the mail this week and will be testing those.  If those don't work then I will go to the XV and TP5X.  I know both of those got a lot of good press on here.

If you can find them, the Nike PD Long is a good ball.  Long off the tee with enough spin around the greens.  WalMart has them for 14.99 per dozen and Target for like $16.

I am in mid-sixties and play ProV1x.. Haven't checked but doubt Titleist would say its the right ball for my SS.   I know a few guys older than me that play ProV.  I've told them they could pickup some yardage by going to a different ball, but nope.  They like how they feel around greens.  Good luck.  :beach:

Thank you sir. I played a few holes with the prov1x and some snells I got this weekend. And off the tee I still like the prov1x so I don't know what I'm gonna do at this point.  I like the snell but don't like having to order them. I got a couple more to try once these are gone but for me the prov1x does go farther than the prov1.
