Has anyone been able to either take videos in slow motion and/or watch golf swing videos on YouTube in slo mo?

Would love to know a process that works.

It's not about having a slow motion app, it's about recording in a higher framerate than your playback rate, and that recording is dictated by the hardware you're using to record.

Playback rate is usually 30 FPS (frames per second).  So if you record in 60 FPS, and play it back at 30, then the speed is half, and the information recorded is twice what it normally is.

When you see the super slow-mo on TV, it's usually something like 2000 fps, which means they can get a clear view of the clubhead moving a fraction of an inch between frames.  At 30 fps, the clubhead on the downswing moves from about waist high to impact in 1 frame.

I have a Go Pro camera and use it to record my swing. I record using the highest frame rate I can then when I use the editing software which came with it to create a slow motion video. But like B77 said if you have an iPhone you can take slowmo video from the camera app. There are two frame rates to choose from so make sure you set it to the highest one for best results.

I have a galaxy s8 cell phone and can record slow motion video. You can then speed it up to real time. But if you record it regular, I haven't been able to slow it down so ya gotta record it in the right mode.

Actually you can slow down the playback of any video in YouTube (from any source).  I believe they have options for 75%, 50% and 25% reduction of the playback frame rate.   Unlike recording at a higher frame rate, you don't get any more actual frames or less fuzzy images - but it can still slow down a full speed recording to allow you to better see what's happening.

Kinovea is a free open source video analysis program.  You can take two videos and play them side by side, adjust frames rates, and coordinate the videos so that the impact frame is 0 in each video.  I use Kinovea 8.25 because it has a countdown time scale display to 0 milliseconds at impact.

Not that hard to use.

To do single frame on Vimeo - click Vimeo, click full screen, hold down SHIFT KEY & use the ARROW KEYS.

No matter where you go, there you are.

Get the app called Hudl Technique.

You get all the basic stuff.

I paid for Coach's Eye basic which has about the same functionalities so why pay for it.

I find with hurdl the slow motion is not as good as v1. I got sick of v1 because of the encoding and time it takes to see video .
