When you're paired up with an inseparable married couple who hit their balls to opposite sides of the fairway but both go to one ball, watch when the other one hits, then they go to the other ball and do the same.  On every...single...shot.

... the 4 hcp "never misses a putt, always up-and-downs" you and your other friend brought to play in your $100-a-man shamble is still drunk from the night before. He proceeds to vomit profusely all over that real nice, decorative, 1st tee box yardage marker at Bali Hai Golf Club in Las Vegas. Then he passes out randomly between holes. He vomits onto the tee box at 10 or 11. He face plants into the fairway walking to his ball, twice. He's in your cart and everyone is wondering who the grade-A @$$#ole is that brought "that guy".

A bag of left-handed junk.

I basically have a really bad mental game, so after 5 holes, if I'm three over or worse, my game goes downhill. Usually I have to start well to have a good day. I need to get out of the habit of letting a few bad shots in a row get to me.

My second entry:  When you're paired up with a guy who seems OK but when it's his turn to tee off he stands over the ball for so long you reach for your phone to call 911 because you think he's had a stroke or something...and then he finally hits the ball...about 150 yards.

That's really gonna be a long day.

Played yesterday. One guy in group ahead of us was the most obnoxious guy imaginable. Every shot was accompanied by running commentary at screeching levels. His normal speaking volume was a yell and he sounded like a cartoon voice, like a spanish Topogeejo (sp?).  He'd announce "i'm gonna hit a high draw" then he'd slice it into the woods; yell at the ball, then yell that he never slices..... this happened every hole. Took at least 4 practise swings on every shot, then hacked it. Must have lost a dozen balls.

and oh yeah, he kept feeding the coyotes, so on a bunch of holes we had to contend with hungry coyotes just a few feet away  glaring at us. Ever tried to tee off while keeping your sand wedge by your side in case you have to fend off a wild animal? And those things are very fast.

1 of The 4 some in front of us kept returning to her cart as she gauged how far she was from the green, changing clubs three times.

Turned painful. Very rarely did we hit two shots without waiting for those four to move ahead.

When we started the back side, discovered there were three 4somes at 10. We decided to just go home.

Sad really, plus 16 on one of the last weekends before the course closes. No Marshalls in site. It appeared folks were doing whatever they wanted.

I'll add to this based on experience yesterday.

When you have a great warm-up session hitting every shot exactly how you want.  -2 through 2.  End of the round: 83; and it wasn't due to putting either.
