Ping Pal really feels good, I imagine its sweetspot and MOI is tiny compared to the new (old) Ping Anser.

Thanks to others who just throw in a model number but some additional info would help or this thread will just be a list of putter models lol

I was in the same situation. I prefer a blade, but my stroke matches up better to a mallet. I went for a fitting at Machine and ended up with this long neck and love it. Almost face-balanced.

I always felt like the fastback was a good compromise. It's not the modern consistency you get with the spiders and other large headed weight back putters but a compromise.

You might consider a B60 or its variants.  Check out this Odyssey Black Series #4: http://www.callawayg...ies-tour-4.html.  If that doesn't suit you, the Odyssey ProType #7 might.  It's a combination of the mallet style with a plumber's neck...

Id recommend the Bettinardi Queen Bee #9.  Has a nice compact head that gives you the confidence of the mallet, but really feels like a blade.  I switched from mallets to blades and found the QB9 was a perfect medium

Weird request I know but I suck with Ping Anser style putters and found a mallet gave me a solid 'feel', but any mallets with inserts and I end up mishitting and the putt is a 'clunk' (hard to explain) and never ever sounds like a good hit and even feels like a mishit.

I have an Odyssey #7 fang and its hit or miss if I hole anything.

So I'd like recommendations (ideally from anyone who feels similar) for a blade (non mallet) putter with a high MOI to give me a consistent solid feel.

Not Seemore and not Scotty Cameron please as bombed with both.

I would think a lot would depend on what kind of stroke you have but Notchbacks tend to work for guys who want the best of both worlds with a slight arc.

Cameron Futura 5MB. Nice subtle tink at impact. Not a sound you'd associate with most modern, milled mallets.

EDIT:  Nevermind. Misread the OP.

A mallet with a bit of toe hang.  That will give you some flow to the head while being more forgiving and giving you the mallet confidence feeling.  The Spider slant is an option which someone mentioned already... You can also find a mallet you like, and weld a slant or plumbers neck to the head and replace the bend shaft.  Rife has a few older models, I think it's called the hybrid, that is a 2 bar mallet with a plumbers neck.

I think this is a good strategy. I also love blades but putt best with a wide-ish blade or something in the direction of a mid-mallet, like the half-moon shapes (think Odyssey Rossi.) I don't care for the full mallet.

Am currently using an Edel (Rogue head, long-ish neck, 3/4 shaft offset) as my blade and am lusting after the Argolf Avalon, a face-balanced CNC milled half-moon that rolls beautifully. (Rocco and Jesper game the French-made Argolf putters and they have gained traction on the Champions Tour.)
Current lineup:

TM M1 440 Tour Issue, 10-degree, Diamana B Series X,
67g.
Nike Flex 3 wood, Diamana S-70 stiff
Callaway Epic 5W, Hzrdus T800 S, 65g.
Callaway Apex hybrid, 20 degree, Kuro Kage 80HY stiff shaft
Mizuno MP-59, 4-P, PX 5.5
(Coming: Srixon z565 4 iron, z965 5-P, C Taper Lite X.)
Ping Glide 50, 54, CFS wedge shafts
Fourteen RM12 58/12 sand wedge
Edel Rogue putter (thick blade), 34 inch.
