Best of luck to them though, it's a tough market to get into and make a name for yourself

They returned my Tweet and indeed they are made overseas by a company they said is top notch and has made balls for other major US companies. As you said, ob18, best of luck in this tough market.

Nice pre-launch price of $25/dz for a limited time only. At $45/dz after initial launch they face some pretty tough competition at much better prices. At that price I don;t see them being around for a very long time. Might as well buy ProV's at that price.

Yeah, that's why I have been on Snell and Vice for quite some time. Great balls at decent prices. Both have worked great for me and I am not going to keep chasing something that I think I have already found.

*To clarify I have over a year with Snell MTB and fairly new to the Vice, but is great so far.

Lenny,  thanks for the feedback. Whether positive or negative it helps us make better products. Logo variations are already underway. We will post some options and would love to hear your thoughts.

@ STROK, a couple quick questions

Appreciate the efforts and involving the community in your launch, however, what specifically is different about your balls compared to Snell? Do you guys have a background in the industry or any patented IP?  How did you arrive at the $45 price point? Outside of logos, marketing materials, and packaging what else was "community sourced"? How did you arrive at developing three different balls simultaneously vs a single option to maintain tighter margins and inventory management, and thus hopefully better prices?

Is the intention to sell direct to consumer? I agree with reducing material waste, will these be packaged and shipped in plastic bags?

The yellow balls looks great, where can we buy them? Also, if you mail one of us a sleeve, we'll post a review.

I love our (relatively) free market economy, and entrepreneurship in general, so I wish Strok Golf the best of luck as they embark on this journey.

But I would ask this question to any new company coming to market -- and especially to Strok: What existing problem in the market does your product seek to uniquely cure?

I suppose I lack foresight, but I don't see Strok providing a solution to any golf ball market problem that is not already remedied by Vice, Snell, or Cut. How many cheap urethane balls do golfers need? And at $40+ per dozen? Why would I buy Strok?

I would hate to see the Strok Golf guys burning the candle at both ends, spending 1000s of dollars, and working 80 hour weeks to push a product to market for which there is no space.

It seems as though this market saturation has already evidenced itself by the flat market response to Strok's crowd sourcing effort.

Despite my pessimism, I sincerely hope I am dead wrong and these guys make it happen.

I would agree. But, a month ago, we would have said the same thing about Cut. There is a gap between a 2 piece and premium balls.
