G'day everyone. I've come across a set of Top Flite 'Pro Forged I' blades from a lady in Sydney that has had them in her garage for years.
1 iron-PW, amazing condition, have barely been hit.
They're obviously a custom set for a touring pro (R.R stamped top left)... the only pro that comes to mind is Irishman, Ronan Rafferty who won 4 Australasian Tour events between 1989-1993.
I know he was a Spalding contracted player back in the day.
Can anyone help? I've attached a photo.
Cheers, Ru

Ronan was a fine player, cracking ball striker! But I sure he was a top flite player, if they're his that's some find as they look sweet! You could always try twitter....and ask him, worth a shot??

Beautiful man just beautiful and like you said straight out of the custom shop. Back in the day Spalding , Macgregor and Wilson had extensive custom departments. If you would please share with my buds over on the Classics Forum they will get a kick out of those. There are also a couple of Spalding nuts over there too

Ronan was definitely a Top-Flite staffer at one time on the Tour. Amazing looking irons, thanks for the picture!

I updated this topic in the classic section so I'll do so here aswell.

Regarding the "RR" Top-Flite Pro Forged I irons in this topic. I purchased them from ruarimac a few weeks back and have used them twice. They are sensational irons and are in the bag indefinitely.

I managed to contact Ronan Rafferty and enquired (with pictures) if they were made for him.

His reply: "Made for me in Japan 89/90? Three sets made—1 set given to the late great Payne Stewart."

Makes them that little bit more special.

Thanks for the follow up.  It always amazes me the power of the internet and forums like this to solve little mysteries like this one.
