Vanderbilt and USC shirts are god aweful.  Who designs this garbage from Nike?  They look like they should be riding horses and playing polo.

I don't care for that style of shirt, but that's just my opinion.

what I noticed is their shorts look like the old coaching shorts from the 80's (other than the high waistbands), they look uncomfortable to me. But I don't like tight.

Wasn't sure what HH was talking about until this hit my IG feed.  Pretty spot on with the polo comment.

My wife said the same exact thing.

Vanderbilt's uniforms were the worst.  If I were one of the player's I would have said "Hell No.".

I like those much better than the USC ones with numbers on the sleeves.

Quote

Designers at Nike Golf spent time with representatives from each school to identify the team's favorite logos then used them to create the new uniforms.

As part of the customization process, each player selected his own number to be displayed on his uniform, a practice not formerly adopted by golf teams. The number blocking system borrows from each school's football team uniforms. The polo shirts also include the teams' respective conference logos.

"Our team is so excited about actually having a jersey," said University of Washington head coach Matt Thurmond. "They loved picking their number and it was fun to reveal them to them. We are athletes. Athletes have jerseys. Maybe in a couple years the kids back home will be buying the jerseys of our top players and wearing them when they play, wanting to be like them. Hopefully this is the start of every high school and college golfer feeling like an athlete on a real team, as they should. I love that Nike is out front on this."

the oregon is terrible, the others are not that bad. Solid colors only, no patterns and DEFINITELY no murals.

Those were from 2015 and were awful as well.  Have no idea what Nike is trying to prove.

I hate the 2 button placket look.  I honestly wish that a club on the PGA tour would tell the players they couldn't wear them anymore.  2 Button Plackets are for men's softball leagues, not golf.

I thought the best looking team out there yesterday was UNLV in their Oakley apparel.  They looked sharp.Posted Image

Then today they showed up in this crap.Posted Image

I'm ok with the number on the sleeve.  I just don't like the collar on the Nike shirts.

Are you talking about the lack of the color?  There isn't one on the Vandy shirt.

It is like a men's softball jersey.

I can't stand it.  I really wish one of the upper end clubs would tell the PGA guys, "Sorry, but you will not be wearing this here."  I think they are tacky.  The mock Turtle necks that Tiger wore back in the day and Nike made popular were awesome.  These, not so much.

They won't last.  I agree that clubs should not allow them as they are not collared shirts.  Just have a nice, classic looking golf shirt as your team uniform.  Lets not try to make golf into basketball or some other sport.

I kind of like the number idea.  I'm sure a lot of our kids are playing the PGA Jr. League thing and they have numbers on their team jerseys.  My son picked #2 to be like Derek Jeter (please no hate).  I'm sure if 42 were available he would have picked that number instead.

I think the numbers on the sleeves were their team's ranking heading into the final 18 holes after the field was pared down to 15 teams.

Yeah they are bad...but what is worse is all the celebrating and fist pumping.  I also don't think the coach should be out there holding their hands every shot.  Good to see that guy drop kick his tee shot...almost detached himself at the waist.

I don't love the collars, but I'll take these over the hilariously bad Tiger S/S mock turtleneck years every day and twice on Sundays.

I actually like the blade collar shirts and I thought the Nike schools looked great. I think if you had interviewed the players if they would rather play in what they did OR boring plain colored polos with pleated khaki shorts and foot joy saddles, they'd have chosen what they were wearing. I'd prefer to watch them play and not worry about their unis.
