I'm attending a practice round at the Masters this year. For any who have been to a golf tournament for viewing, what are you opinions on wearing golf shoes? Good idea or bad idea? I want to be comfortable but don't want to look like a dork.

Any opinions?

Just wear regular shoes. No golf shoes.

Wear whatever you're the most comfortable walking in.

I have been to the Masters a half dozen times and many other tournaments. My opinion is wearing golf shoes as a spectator = dork! It does not look good, do you see caddies wearing golf shoes? Nope.... Comfortable sneakers.... Take care of your dogs with comfortable shoes. Lots of walking and standing.

i went to The Masters a few years ago (2003 maybe??) when it rained and they had to totally cancel Thursday's round...

anyway, that's the only year that i've worn golf shoes, but that was because you absolutely had to...that was the muddiest, grossest, smelliest Masters i've ever been to.

If you've got sneaker-like golf shoes, no problem. If you've got dressier golf shoes, no.

When I went to the Memorial last year I would wear golf shoes in the morning because the grass was wet and then change into my running shoes when I left to get lunch.

dont wear golf shoes- unless it is absolutely hosing down and wet underfoot (at least even sneaker golf shoes are waterproof), as stated it smacks of dork- wannabe- try hard.
