This is actually amazing.  But the consecutive cuts is my favorite.  Think it demonstrates his skill level the best.  Think about it - for a while, his WORST was enough to have a crazy successful career.

Not sure, but this isn't one of them. Nearly all of those "european tour wins" are double-counted majors and WGCs.

i don't consider his wins to be true euro tour wins ... his cut streak and us open margin of victory are the most impressive stats to me, in addition to his consecutive usga championship streak of 6, which is arguably his most impressive ...

My favorite Tiger stat is that in spite of winning the second most majors and has the most individual wins in tour history on some guys lists he doesn't crack the top 5.

You just don't understand how the Legends played the game the way the designers wanted it to be played.  They made shots.  They had to play with golf balls that a 4 mph wind would knock out of the air.  Sure, they could all hit a 7 iron straight if they wanted to, but that wouldn't be a shot.  They had to make shots by shotmaking shooting.  That's how the designers from the early 1900s wanted it.  The Legends respected that by making shots with their shotmaking.  The guys today have no respect for the way courses are supposed to be played and/or shotmaking.  All they seem to care about is shooting as low as they can.  Shameful.

I'm always blown away when I read this list:

http://www.golfchann...erical-records/

Some of my favorites:

39. From the 1999 PGA Championship through the 2002 U.S. Open, Woods won seven of the 11 majors contested. Woods was a cumulative 94 under par in those tournaments – 60 shots better than any other player.

32. During the 2000 PGA Tour season, Woods recorded one round higher than 73. It came in the first round of the Masters. He shot 75, on a day when the field averaged 75.59.

20. There have only been two instances since 1900 where a player won a major championship by 10 strokes or more. Woods owns both of those instances (1997 Masters, 2000 U.S. Open).

7. Tiger is the only player in PGA Tour history to win eight or more times on a single course. He has done it on three different courses.

6. Tiger has won five straight PGA Tour starts three different times. Over the last 60 years, he is the only player to do it once

3. Woods had 142 consecutive PGA Tour events without missing a cut, from 1998-2005. That is 29 more than the second-longest streak in the Tour’s history (Byron Nelson, 113 in a row). There are only four other such streaks even half as long as Woods’.

2. In a stretch from the middle of the 1999 season through the middle of the 2001 season, Woods won 20 of the 38 stroke-play events he played on the Tour (a .526 win percentage). In those events, Woods was a combined 472 under, a cumulative score 307 shots better than anyone else. Vijay Singh was second.

I can't imagine teeing off trying to post the lowest score possible.  It's like they think that's the objective of the game.  Shameful indeed.

Just looking at his career record on the PGA Tour :
  • He's played in 328 events (1,179 strokeplay rounds)
  • He's made 295 cuts (90%) (MC 24 W/D 9)
  • He's finished in the Top 25 249 times (76%)
  • He's finished in the Top 10 186 times (57%)
  • He's finished first or second 108 times (33%)
  • He's won 79 times (24%)
  • He's earned $110,061.012 in official prize money, or $335,552 for every event he has played.
  • His career stroke average is 69.6 (strokeplay rounds)
Simply incredible ...

European Tour wins isn't that impressive or at least misleading because probably around 25-30 of them were on US soil in co-sanctioned events. Much better stats out of the PGA TOUR and majors.

Shameful.

So Tiger couldn't shape the ball....?

You realize how ludicrous that sounds right?

Yes, dude.  That was the point.

Ohh so you're including Tiger in the "Legends" category...makes sense now.

I still hold hope is in the "players of today grouping" albeit a legend still.
