Have bought, sold (and kept a couple of) putters from above makers and I am wondering who else (JDM) I should add to the must try/must have list??

Not looking to climb up into the thousands or have one "blinged" up by Gold's Factory, so curious what else may be out there.
Can't putt a lick with 8802 style, and am getting away from stainless in favor of softer aka carbon, copper, etc.

Have to admit my Yamadas may be the best/softest feeling putters I have ever rolled, so wondering if I should just suck it up and get one of his "Handmade."

Any and all suggestions & opinions appreciated.
Thanks

Yuji Masuda (Masda Golf).
I think he made putters before he set up Masda Golf.

I have the JDM "the one" answer style putter and honestly it's as good as anything out there.

Have not tried a Whitlam model to compare to be honest.

Or as someone mentioned above, a Kitada.  The most underated putter maker for me.  His finish is OK but paint fill scheme is not the best. I had mine redone in a racing theme by Slighter.

Or design tuning putters.  The concept is really up there.  The blank I think is from Kitada.  If you like soft, you'll like this.  Extremely. Deep face mill.  Mine is the semi mallet version with DT shaft as well.  It's a but soft for my liking G and I'm looking to sell so pm me if interested.

Finally Benock.  A lot of different shapes you can custom, face mill as well.  Can't seem to find a pic of mine but it's a really good putter as well. Firmer feel although I'm sure you can custom one with deeper face mill.

Nice putter.

Has David split from Gauge or is he still teetering on designs under Whitlam? Always liked their bladed irons, but was never clear on who truly designed their putters. I was always under the assumption that Whitlam was the lead designer on the putters.

Thanks gang. Some very nice suggestions. Probably better that I not know about Design Tuning at those price points though, lol.
And I have always gotten names confused with Kitada and Katana, so appreciate the clear up on the higher end one.

I am still figuring out JDM putters.  Kitada can be had head only for $160 on yahoo auction FYI.

I recently got an epon zen(You said no 8802, but The i33 has a following) , benock kumbhira tour I am pretty jacked about, and a Matsumoto I plan to refinish that is like my masda studio 1.   Matsumotos are killer values used but they are all light that I have used.

There are a lot of interesting JDM putters.  I try to buy putters on shape and looks as much or more as the brand.  Some stuff just catches your eye, and most things there are made well enough.  There were 2 different Grand Prix putters up recently, and those had me fooled.  I couldn't tell if they were chinsey or good, but I did like the looks of both.  I passed to be safe.

Gautier, George Spirits, Fuso Dream, Oda milled, Kronos is made in America but seemingly only sold there....dude there are a lot of cool putters over there.

The Kronos putters aren't sold in the States?
The guy who makes them is quite a Japan-fan; he's even visited my local second hand golf shop as they carry his putters (they sell new and second hand stuff). I've tried a Kronos Answer-style putter and really liked it. But it was pricey for an OTR second hand putter (35,000 yen). Nicely balanced, though.

I really admiring one company and love their designs and every putters they made. Probably just because they are small,  but I like the way they are doing it.

I don't have chance to try their putter yet and have been eyeballing their 666 joker for months but couldn't pull the trigger.

Great Info Big - Curious if you speak/read Japanese or use a service (like "Buyee")  for Yahoo Auctions. Any thoughts on the better proxy type services??
I Have bought a bit from a few sellers on Rakuten but have not yet ventured into the Yahoo realm.

All info appreciated. Feel free to shoot a PM if you prefer to discuss outside thread.
Thanks

Stick with the older Yamada putters; they were the best feeling and simplest design.  A lot of the putters above are too busy for my taste.

Hard to argue with the older Yamada offerings - just almost impossible to find any for sale like the old Musashi, 85029, etc LOL

thanks

How can you not like a putter that says "brains" on it.
