The only Hogan ball reviewed on this site is the Tour Deep but I am wondering if you guys have tried other versions? I was thinking about purchasing some Hogans but I want the model that will provide me with the softest feel and most spin.
Please let me know.
Thanks,
Dave

As of right now the Tour Deep is the only hogan ball sold. when the Hogan Apex came out I began playing it over the ProV, I felt it was much longer and softer around the greens. The only problem was that I would tear the covers after a few holes and had to quit playing the ball. I then moved to The Hawk, I felt this ball was perfect for me. It seemed to have the same soft cover that was on the Apex, but with its core design, I did not tear it up. It did not spin as much as the Apex but was still very long. I was forced to stop playing it when they discontinued it and have yet to find a replacement that was as good. I have not played the Tour Deep, but would guess it would be similar to the Apex.

Cool, thanks for the reply... wouldn't it only make sense for you to try the tour deep now though if you are looking for "your ball" ?
I what year did they stop making the Apex / hawk ?

I think the Apex was changed to the Tour Deep just about 2 years ago and the Hawk was pulled about 1 1/2 years ago

If you are looking for a comparison for the Tour Deep, I believe it plays very similar to the HX Tour 56.  Really good balls, but will shred easily with any aggressive grooves...

the tour deep is the original hx 56. it came out first and from what a rep told me when it came out they where stampling it as a callaway for phil to play.  its a great ball however the hx 56 should be dropping in price soon.

Exactly, I was trying to remember the situation when the HX Tours came out and remember someone mentioning they were pretty much the Tour Deep with the HX dipples (specifically remember hearing Phil, Rocco & Furyk playing them).

Great ball if you can still find someone carrying them. I do agree that aggressive grooves can fray the cover very easily, but if you are looking for ultimate feel around the greens there's no better ball (Tour 56 works great as well).

The Apex Tour used to be my ball of choice if I couldn't play a Pro V1. My pro used to give me a dozen every once in awhile.

Great balls!

The Hogan Tour deep is the Callaway X56, dimples and all. I really dont think there is much difference. Great ball

The Tour Deep has been discontinued by Callaway as well.  No more Hogan golf balls - why have in house competition for Callaway branded balls?  I just picked up two dozen Tour Deep from TGW for under $25 each.

Have never played the Apex or "The Hawk" but do play the Tour Deep.  Its is a very good ball.  Not the longest ball but it will hold on greens.  Durability has not been a problem for me.  Can't find them in any local golf shops so I bought some on ebay.  Play'em while you can, they seem to be going away.
