I was starting to think it had been a while since I last holed a chip/pitch.  I haven't holed one since I moved to Arizona (25 rounds ago).  I did hole one in one of the last couple rounds before I moved.  I have also made multiple putts from the fairway/rough (like only a couple feet into the fairway or rough) but I don't really count those since they all have felt like very makeable putts.  Low and behold, drained a short sided flop shot over a bunker yesterday.  Later in the round I lipped out a bunker shot (thought I was going to drain that one too) but it stopped a couple feet away.  I can't recall the last time I holed a bunker shot.. if ever...

I would say chips -  two to three per year. Bunker shots - one every three years.

So after posting this a few weeks ago ............... I've holed two bunker shots and a chip. Someone needs to post something about how often you make a hole in one.

Add another bunker shot - that's three in the past 4 or 5 weeks now! As I said before, history has shown one every three years prior to this year!

In 3.5yrs of playing I've only holed one bunker shot. Great feeling. Chip ins and hole outs are also pretty rare. 19 times in the last 100 rounds.

Been working on part of my game and have chipped more in in the last month than in the last 10 years.

Never now.  I used to do so from time to time a few years ago but, although I have improved in recent years, I have not done so for a long time.  Odd.

Bunker shots are probably 1/150-200 (if that) and chipping I would say about 1/50-75. A lot of factors for me to consider if I'm going to be aggressive and try and hole it or if I'm just aiming for a 3 foot circle.

Oddly, I hole out chips quite often. Yet I can't remember ever holing out from a bunker.

I was with a buddy at Edwin Watts last week as he wanted to pick out a new wedge and clubs. He told the guy at Watts he wanted a wedge that would improve his short game, and help him hole out "like this guy", while pointing at me.

The Watts guy asked if I do it often, and my friends response was, "Every round".

I literally hole out every two or three rounds; two weeks ago twice in the same round.

I'm a lucky guy!

Hold a great chip yesterday. My 2nd shot was pulled (story of the day). My third which should have been a chip over a bunker was a shank and the ball ended up in a ditch alongside the fringe. My fourth jumped out of the ditch and rolled six yards into the hole. That cheered me up a bit. One of the few highlights of the day.

More frequently this season, since I worked on my green side game during the winter.  I expect to hole a chip at least once a round.  Actually producing one about every two rounds.
From a green side bunker, only once this season.

Bunker shots I probably only hole 1/2 a year. Chip in's around the green I reckon one every 7-10 rounds, although the courses I play lend themselves to this.

Longer range hole outs I have a grand total of 2 for my career, from 120 and 165 respectively. Also responsible for 25% of my career eagles!

This year I haven't holed any bunker shots.

I have holed a shot from 117 out this year for eagle.

Yesterday I holed two chips out that were very difficult that I was just trying to make bogey.  I ended up making birded.  I wish I would have saved those shots for big tournaments and big moments.

Bunker shots: 4-5 per year I suppose. Two so far this year. I will always be a strong advocate for the higher lofted, higher spinning shots because of this, out of the bunker. It takes a lot to commit to them, and they're easy to second guess yourself with, but I do find that if I can take a bit of a harder swing in the sand, it's more likely that my shot will do what I'm hoping it will do, and takes out some of the variables of swinging just hard enough and not taking too much sand on the shot.

Chip in: Green side fringe or just in the rough (equating to a 20 yard shot +/-), I'd say an average of one every three rounds. On the flip side, if I'm 50 yards out, I don't hole them any more often than I do from 100, and I'll hole those once or twice a year (once so far this season)

On the 4th of July this year I holed a eagle out of the bunker on #1 (par 5) and then holed a birdie out of bunker on #2 (par 3). That's the lowest I've ever been after 2 holes of golf in my life. I stopped, looked around feeling good, and then turned and handed the conductor my ticket for a 4 hole trip on the bogey train.

Holing out from bunker is pretty rare. Maybe 4 or 5 times out of 50 rounds. I chip in a lot though. I think that has more to do with missing greens by only a few feet or being in the fringe a lot. I've gotten really good at the bump and run type chips using different irons for different lengths. I very rarely hit what I'd call a pitch shot that finds the hole.

First off, I play at least a few holes almost every day, so there are ample opportunities.  Generally, I chip in from around the green once every couple rounds.  I guess it comes and goes in spurts.  Just in the last week, I can point out three examples, but I'm also sure I've gone at times a month without chipping in.  As for bunker shots, less often of course, but I can recall four hole-outs from just this season. My bunker play has been a great strength since I bought a Ping Glide ES 58 this past winter.

I generally have 3-5 chip ins per year now. Had a lot more in my high school and college days, more rounds was the main factor and a slightly sharper short game. I have 2 so far this year I think in about 38 posted rounds. One of my close friends who is a very good player chips in dang near every round. He had 4 chip ins during our 36 hole state fourball this spring. He also set D3 scoring record his senior year in college with a -7 65. I am rather proud of my sand play but maybe make 1-2 per year if any.

I've had 4 this year and one was for eagle :pimp:

I'll guess that by the end of the year I'll have around 10.  When you miss as many greens as I do there are lots of opportunities to chip in!
