There is no better feeling, though few and far between.  Always amazed at people claiming an inordinate amount and again asking the norm.  For bunker shots I've improved to the point I actually am comfortable in them, maybe once per year.  Have made 2 chips from 5 and 15 yards off the putting surface to medium back pin locations (so over 50'), but again and anomaly and frankly haven't seen playing partners sink any either.

Longest putt I've made or seen made is maybe 30' too.  Season is still early here.

Last year I holed 0 bunker shots in 60 rounds of golf... I lipped out 3 and had one hit dead center of the pin and stop on the lip.

I chipped in 5 or 6 times.

I don't hole a lot of long shots.  Never have.  In 17 rounds in 2017, I haven't holed out a chip or bunker shot.  That's a pretty long stretch for me (I also haven't been playing great golf).

I'd say 1 holed out bunker shot and 2-3 various chip/pitch shots per season. I play about 30-40 times a year.

I've never holed a bunker shot.
I've chipped/pitched in under 20 yards many times, usually will get 3-4 a year (40-50 rounds).

Maybe 2 holed bunker shots ever, & a few chip in's (2-3?) per year. A buddy, typically not the greatest short game, chipped in twice yesterday during our round.

I'll play 2 or 3 times a week in season.  I can't remember the last time I holed a bunker shot.  I have poor distance control out of the sand.  Chipping and pitching I'll get probably 3 a month.

I think I average one chip in of some sort every 10 or 15 rounds. Back in high school and college when I played every day that was one every couple of weeks. I miss those days...

I had a unreal year last year with chip ins. Seemed like every other round (I'm sure it wasn't that often, but my playing partners swore it was every round). our greens are pretty small though, so it's pretty frequent to miss a green but have just a short, simple chip left. And I miss a lot of greens.......so a lot of chances. Closed out today's round with a chip in bird.

Bunker shots though?  I can remember one in the last several years.

I chip in or hit a pitch that rolls in pretty regularly, sometimes multiple times in a round, but they're mostly mundane from just off the green.  I can only think of 2 holed bunker shots in the last two seasons.  Only one shot outside of 25 or 30 yards in the last two seasons.  No shots outside of 40 yards, no hole in ones either.

Twice on Sunday thank you. One from just off the edge of the green and one stonker from under a tree, off a bad lie, over a stream....for a 2. Cue snidey comments from playing partners.

I'm fairly new to the game but last week I chipped in from about 45 yards over a small green side bunker to a back green placed pin. Rolled in centre of the cup, me and my pal were jumping around like it was a hole in one!!!! Guys on the next tee box must of thought calm down, but it was for a birdie (which I've only now had 4 of. Was on a major buzz for the last couple of holes. ...grinning now typing this

I lipped out from the hole from greenside bunker last week. I don't think I hole one for many years.  Chipped in several times but last one was a year ago   One was a simple chip and run 30 yards off the green and another was a flop shot high over 20 feet embankment, just landed on the green and couldn't see the pin from where I was
I have chips in in practice.  Hole bunker shots not as much

I chip in more off the green into the cup than I make 20+ feet putts, that's for sure. With a chip you can take a lot of the break out. I use Stan Utley's method and usually chip in once every 2-3 rounds from inside 20 yards.

on the chipping green you would think I'm a short game master with how many I hole or hit the practice stick..... on the course? i do it maybe 4-5 times a year? in about 50-65 rounds.

have never holed a bunker shot... have been really really close though

I'm 62 and got my first set of clubs on my 13th b'day. I bet I have had less than 10 hole outs from bunker play over my golfing career. Chip/pitch I do ok. Had 2 hole outs for birdies in one round last week. Normally maybe 1 a month. I'm retired and play 3 times a week on average.

Never holed a bunker shot in 8 years. I don't think I holed a chip or pitch either for the first few years.

Got on the Monte "use the bounce" bandwagon and chipped in 4 or 5 times last year.

I holed a bunker shot last year for birdie (proceeded on the next bunker shot to skull it across the green), which was cool and hit the pin last week but did not drop.

I'll never forget playing with a decent player (probably a 10) boasting he has a chip in every round, which has stuck with me as pushed the boundaries of credibility.

As said always good to have company.

After my 350+ drives, I often land in greenside bunkers, then hole out 50% of the time.

Seriously, I hole-out about 6-8 times per year (60 rounds).

Chipped in 4 times in the last 3 rounds and lipped out 1 or 2 more. Going to a lower loft wedge for chipping has completely changed my short game. My 46 is a utility club used only around the greens.

My bunker game is good in the sense that I can get out but it's really poor in distance control and accuracy. Don't ever remember holing out from the bunker. I've retired my Eye2 L from bunker duty and will be experimenting with my 56.14.

Not very often. Once every couple of months, perhaps. Makes it all the sweeter when it happens but it's luck rather than skill for me.

My best ever putt was on a sloping green at El Rompido North Course. That was probably a six yard putt, downhill and across the slope. No-one expected it to go in (least of all me) and watching it just roll in a fairly sharp arc and drop in was wonderful :)

I also remember the first chap who teed off next because his ball broke apart.

I have holed a bunker shot a couple of times over 25 years - more luck than skill.  I chip in a couple of times a season from off the green but never holed anything from more than 10 yards off the green.

NOT often enough! But, good news is, I scare the hole a lot & that makes it exciting!

The way I practice is that you can't leave the chipping area until you hole out X number of times. Sometimes when time is a constraint I will try for 7 but usually I'll try to go for 10. It has taught me how to think of wedges as an extension of putting and trying to make every shot I look at. I would say for every 10 rounds I play I will hole two. Maybe more if I am on the green less often or less if I am hitting more greens or getting the speed wrong. All in all, if you try to make every chip you look at you're bound to make a lot more of them than if you don't

Same here, although my chipping seems to have improved over the last couple of weeks. More 'up and down's' than earlier in the year.

Bunker play is another story. I usually get out but hardly close enough to have a decent chance to hole the putt. The occasional 'sandy par' feels like a birdie to me.
Unfortunately, it's not something I can practice. The practice bunkers are beautiful with fluffy sand where you can practice hitting two inches behind the ball and watch it fly out on a cushion of sand. Just like the announcers say every weekend during the PGA broadcast. But on the course, you never know what you're going to get. Sometimes just a few mm of sand which feels fluffy under your feet but when the club enters the sand and the bounce hits the hard layer under the few mm of sand, the club scoots forward and skulls the ball over the green (and most likely into another bunker).
Other times the few fluffy mm of sand is not even there and it's like hitting from a cart path. Tough for me to get the ball up over the lip.
Wet bunkers with compact sand are my favorites. Not too many problems from there....

I rarely hole chip shots, run many close but rarely in, maybe 2 or 3 a season. I feel like I get a ton of lip outs and chips that hit the stick and don't fall. Can't remember the last time I holed a bunker shot.

chips, i can get them pretty close and that part of my game is really turning around. i'm also a ton better in the green side bunkers. holed 3 out already this year. I've also had i think two chip ins this year. not many long putts but at least a few long eagle putts went in. roughly 20ft or so.
