Anything shallow faced with a warbird like sole.

I think getting advice from guys who are sitting at the computer in their underwear while taking a break from porn is a very solid way to choose clubs. - bluedot

Thoughts? Suggestions?

Old school…original Callaway Steelhead 4+ with an untapped DGX100 at +1" long.  Very long off the deck and great off the tee.

My current FW wood is another favorite, the Adams Tight Lies 2 Titanium 3 wood…super easy to hit off the deck, long, and controllable.

Try a 4 wood. Almost all the new ones are every bit as long as the old 3 woods, and they are substantially easier to hit off the deck ...

Callaway XR

Yup. A caveman could hit well with them.

I hear so much about Callaway XR fairway woods.
Please correct me if I'm mistaken but there's 2 different versions of Callaway XR fairway woods?
Which version are you guys referring to?

To answer this question, I would have to say: TaylorMade V-Steel & TaylorMade R9.
Ping G25 is up there as well.

I'm rather partial to my 1970's vintage Spalding Executive 7 wood, it has a wide open face which suits my tendency to hook, and yes it does go high. Loft is similar to my hybrid which is in danger of being replaced.

Whatever club allows you to get your center of gravity left, open your left hip 20% at impact and keep your right side high.

Oops I mean Odyssey two ball putter tour van'd to 13* of loft.

Why not swing 100% and not tense your arms?!

Swinging 70% on purpose with a distance club is nuts. Your much better off hitting the next club down full out. The shorter shaft and higher loft provides way more forgiveness than you trying to self judge "70%".

The regular epic 3+ has been my most consistent off the deck and tee that I have hit in a long while.  It's the club that I have the most confidence in my entire bag.  I have it turned down to 12.5 and it still gets plenty of height off the deck for me

Tight Lies Tour w/ Aldila Tour Blue... the 5w has replaced both an F6 Baffler and F7 5/6w due to being easier to elevate and less hook prone (regardless of adjustment... if loft too far down to open the face and I lose both launch angle and notable carry distance).

The 3w is being tested against an F7, but it's not quite as cut-and-dry... I can actually hit the TL Tour 3w off the deck which I can't do reliably with the F7, but to date I've only carried a 3w for tee use on a handful of holes at my home course and the F7 is proving harder to dethrone in this regard.

Best part is both can be had pretty easily for under $20 and the shaft alone is worth 2-4x that... I think I have less than $30 total in my 3w and 5w combined.
