I won a sleeve of the Callaway Chrome Soft Truvis last fall and put them into play vs the Pro-V and Srixon Z-star's I had been playing.  They were about a 1/2 club longer and I liked the way they played around the green better then the other two.  It's the only ball I play now.

I'm playing the Srixon Z-Star XV due to picking up the 6 ball packs for 10-12$.  I get very similar results with it, Chrome Soft X and B330.

Any of the softer urethane balls aimed at amateur swing speeds are my preference (Chrome Soft, Project A, B330 RX, Duo U, and now the Srixon Q Star Tour (just tried some last week).  They all perform and feel pretty similar to me.

Been playing Chrome Soft Truvis for a little over 6 months now. Seems a bit longer than the ProV1x I'd been playing. I'd say it spins a little less.

MUCH softer than the ProV. Very noticeable off the driver (sound-wise).

Been away for a while but get back soon and will be trying the TP5s (long time fan of the dear departed TP Red LDP) and the Chrome Soft X. Maybe the new ProV as well.

I played with Tour Preferred X up until they stopped making them. Then went with RZN Black and they took those away from me too. Currently using TP5x. Hopefully they stick around for awhile.

Long time Pro V1X user.  Still have 3 dozen from 2011 or maybe it was 2012...something like that.  Anyway, prior to that I played the HX Tour, Tour iz, 1st gen Pro V1, Pro V1* (star), B330 (back in the day), Tour Accuracy TW, Original Tour Accuracy, Nike One, One Tour D, Titleist Professional (when we still played wound balls)...

This year I'm actually changing from my V1x to the Chrome Soft X.  Quite happy with that ball.  I really enjoyed the regular Chrome Soft as well, but I feel like I get a bit more check on pitch and chip shots, and I like that.  Do I really?  I don't know...I "feel" like I do.

2 hcp: I usually play SR3's for the spin reduction and price, but my last round I was forced to use the '15 Pro V1x and carded a 66 which has me questioning the switch. :dntknw:

I had always been kind of a Pro V1 guy, but there are so many good balls out there.  And premium balls are expensive.

Now I play mostly the KSig, based on quality of the ball at a great price. If money wasn't a consideration, I'd probably play the ProV1, TP5, B330 or a Chrome Soft X,

I've predominantly played TM TPx for the last few years.  I tried a few different balls to start this year, and was blown away by the 2017 Pro V1.  I'd played a few rounds last year with the V1x, but the 2017 Pro V1 is on a different level.  Hand down the best ball I've ever played.

THIS is the part I don't, and probably never will, get.

KSigs are $1.25. ProVs are $4. $2.75 difference. Quite a bit actually.

But you indicate that the ProV and other premium balls are better for your game. Now if you LOSE a couple of balls per round, I'd understand giving up a little performance.

I typically play a single new ball per round and seldom lose one.

My clubs and bag new cost me about $2,000. Not to mention shoes, shirts, shorts and the extra drivers and putters I have. Oops.

I regularly pay between $30 and $90 a round.

I am not about to "compromise" any single round for $3. :)

Im not under 10 yet, but will answer anyway, since I will get under 10 this season ( i hope ).

I was playing the Z-Star, but didn't really like the feel of the ball, to hard for me. Switched to the Nike RZN Platinium ball because of the price 20$ a dozen. After that I bought another 10 dozens. Amazing ball to the price.

I voted Bridgestone B330 because I really like it and I have a dozen or so but I do like others too, such as Chromesoft, SR2, Srizon Z-Star and was a huge fan of Taylormade Penta TP5 and Lethal. I've tried the TP5 but not the X yet, I really really like the TP5 and will probably swap over to it, keeping in mind I want to try the X as it supposed to better into the wind.

For some reason I've never been overly interested in Titleist, maybe it was the price, but all the others are there with price now too.

I'm a 6.2 handicap and was a Taylormade Lethal guy up until last year when by chance I found a Snell MTB on a course and played it as a gag.  Well the joke was on me!  I fell in love with the ball and it is now my gamer going forward.  Excellent ball with tremendous feel and responsiveness.  Do yourself a favor and give the Snell MTB ball a try!  Great ball, better value.....you'll never go back!

Z Star.

IMO they're the same as Pro VI's but I can usually pick them up considerably cheaper (Golf Galaxy always seems to have some sort of deal).
