Interesting lead tape on that Newport 2.  Just a tiny thin strip, you'd assume that wouldn't really make more than a few grams worth of difference.

Besides the circle T on the weights on his first putter, what is the other designation?  Is the an S for Scotty, or is that a 10 indicating weight?

I would assume he does that to get it to sit at address in a particular fashion.  Cameron welded a bead line to Faxon's putter to help it sit open.


From tcc:

Quote from Brad:  "The bead of weld is to stop the club face from closing at address when more than 4 degrees of loft is on the putter.  Scotty mills all his putters for 4 degrees when the putter shaft is vertical.  If loft is added to the face then it will have a tendency to close.  The weight via the weld helps stop it from closing.
