I read recently on a different forum's driver shootout that this was the #1 driver beating out the Callaway Epic and both Taylormade M drivers and the Ping G drivers. I rarely come across the Srixon driver on the course or in the shops. Is Srixon sitting on a secret weapon with this driver? Is it a true sleeper or an anomaly in just one of many shootouts? I would love to hear from those who have put this driver to the test. The one club in my bag I am not married to is my driver, like a faithful girlfriend I keep coming back to it, but I have been looking for just a little more from that club.

Whether you agree with their methods or not, that site does some VERY thorough testing. That said, that doesn't mean it's the best driver for YOU. I think those tests also prove that any of those drivers will perform great for you if properly fit.

I haven't really looked into that story too much yet, but I do know that the Srixion driver lengths are longer than most of the others. They test with stock shafts, and most numbers are pretty close. Srixion makes good clubs. A fitted driver still makes all the difference.

Did you mean Srixon drivers are shorter than the others? It's 45".

Srixon makes some really good and underrated stuff. I play the Z545 driver and love it. Ball speeds off it still beat the current 2017 drivers for me. And I'm the only person I know among all the people I've played with that uses a srixon driver.

I can't speak to the 565 but I recently picked up the 765 and it is a cannon.

I read the test results this morning.  My take away is that all the major companies are making excellent drivers.  If you look at the top 7 drivers listed, the difference in total distance is 3 yards, with the M1 the shortest.  The yards off line from the same drivers varies less than 2 yards.

The test did put the Srixon on my radar, however.  When I go to try different drivers, I'll add it to the list.  Still, any new driver will have to show appreciable improvement over my current driver before I'll spend any cash.

Results, after being fit, is more important than band.

Just won one of these at a tourney.  If it's such a great driver, why isn't Hideki using it?  I think one staffer is using it and if I'm not mistaken, it's a tour black face version.

Hearing some positive things, I will definitely have to add the Strixon to my list .  I don't know if it's the one, only a full demo and fitting can determine that, but my interest is peeked.

Probably because someone else is paying them more to play something else.  As most have mentioned the difference in these current drivers is very small and if someone is offering more money to play something different then the players are going to take the cash.

Truth be told I would take the money unless something was just leaps and bounds ahead of everything else.

So typically Srixon staffers will only have a deal for irons?

I love this driver. 45" shaft, traditional head shape w/out any graphics. My buddy was trying one out and I hit it once on the 18th hole. It felt perfect.

would love to try this, however all my shafts have cobra tips. And I like swapping out shafts for fun. just too big of hassle to start using another driver head.

I played the original z565. It was one of the best drivers I've had in the last 5 years. As long or longer than anything. Only criticism might be the sound, but that's a personal thing. I could easily still be gaming this driver.

Play the z565 driver with the 6s Kaula Miyazaki shaft (I think 5 is standard so slightly heavier). Best driver I have ever owned and that includes the 2016 M2. Shaft feels stable and smooth at the same time.

Glad I did a search and didn't start a new thread.  I was looking for some opinions on the Z565 driver.  I just ordered one yesterday since the HZRDUS shaft is a free upgrade through today.  Ordered a 9.5 head with the HZRDUS Yellow 65 in stiff.  I do love my EPIC SZ, primarily for the distance gains I've seen when I hit the screws, but my misses seem to be exaggerated, which makes me look to try something else.  I hit the 565 on a LM with an XS Miyazaki shaft and loved the dispersion I saw.  I feel like the HZRDUS yellow in stiff should play more like the Miyazaki XS.  I'm not a big fan of the Miyazaki shaft in my U65, so I didn't feel confident in ordering one for the driver.  I'm actually thinking of reshafting the U65 with a HZRDUS black hybrid shaft.  I'll do a comparison of the Z565 and SZ when I get my new driver.  Also thinking about getting an F65 3 wood with a HZRDUS yellow 75 stiff shaft since I like my drivers and 3 woods to sort of match.

Really surprised this thread is so short.  I am not a Srixon guy at all (clubs or ball) although I am currently trying out the Z Star XV due to the $10 6 pack deal earlier in the year.  Normally play Cobra drivers but I've not had a chance to play much this year and am hitting the driver like poop.  So on a whim never having owned a Srixon wood, I ordered a used Z565 9.5* off Global Golf with the Kaula Mizu 6 X Stiff.

Hit about 10-15 ball in the backyard tonight into the woods and man this this feels special.  I cut it down an inch or so so it should be 44" or a tad longer.  The ball really feels like it explodes off the face, and normally I'm a high ball hitter with tons of spin (big time flipper, I mean like 4K+ spin sometimes).  The ball seems to come off much lower than most clubs (9.5*) which is a bit higher than I normally play drivers.  The thing that surprised me the most is the ball never kept climbing up on me like many of my shots with driver do (again, due to the flip issue).  Another thing that was surprising is I am aiming to hit over a tree and it felt like every ball went right over the top of the tree.

Now I will say, my backyard has gotten my hopes up on many drivers only to see the course tear them apart, but I've never been this impressed by a driver by a backyard session.

I have found as A lefty I am having a hard time finding a demo in the Srixon drivers. The driver looks great and has excellent reviews I am hoping to hit one soon.

I found the Z765 w Myizaki Mizu 6X the equal to my fitted Ping been playing for over 1.5 years. I liked it so much purchased the F65 3wood and ecstatic about that club. The ping is still in play as its very reliable for me. Srixon is making incredible clubs these days. Just hard to find.

Would love to hear how the Srixon 565 driver (great looking, cool head) performs with that 65g HZRDUS Yellow. And also what the SW is at the length you built it. Am looking to game a driver at 45 or 44.5 or even 44 if I center that better. And want at least D2 SW. Current driver shaft is 45.75 and it is too unwieldy. I can center it but have a hard time hitting it consistently down the middle.
Current lineup:

67g.
Nike Flex 3 wood, Diamana S-70 stiff
Callaway Epic 5W, Hzrdus T800 S, 65g.
Callaway Apex hybrid, 20 degree, Kuro Kage 80HY stiff shaft
Mizuno MP-59, 4-P, PX 5.5
(Coming: Srixon z565 4 iron, z965 5-P, C Taper Lite X.)
Ping Glide 50, 54, CFS wedge shafts
Fourteen RM12 58/12 sand wedge
Edel Rogue putter (thick blade), 34 inch.

Got mine yesterday with the Hzrdus yellow shaft and it's a cannon. They are a good combination - MGS had it right and is the only ones I trust to go try after their reviews.

Playing the Miyazaki Kaula Mizu 6x and cut it down to 44" and am about a D0-D1 in swingweight.  I think the yellow is slightly counterbalance so may drop it a point, but overall I think you'll be fine.

Edit: my head weighs 198g and with adapter weighed 205g.

I've got 27 holes in with this driver and am usually not a great driver. Sometimes I'm on, other times I'm not. One thing I always struggle with is spinning a driver too much, but have not had that problem at all with this driver.

Of the 27 holes I've played, I've had 3 drives on holes that were 20-40 yds further than my previous longest drive and had 3-4 other holes where I was in the vicinity of longest drives on those holes. Admittedly ground is firm right now and I got a cart path bounce on one of them.

Never would have thought about gaming a Srixon driver but so far am in love. Really hoping this isn't a honeymoon period.

I haven't hit the 565 or 765 drivers yet but did hit both of the 45 series.  The 545 was a fantastic driver.  Very classic look and performed just as good as anything out there.

I'm a Srixon guy and have absolutely been in love with their equipment for the past several years.  They are easily one of the most underrated brands out there IMO.  Honestly, if you look at the MGS test results the margin is very, very slim and easily could have shifted any of those top 5 drivers into that #1 spot.  Bottom line...go get fit, try different head/shaft combos and go with what performs, looks, and sounds best for you.
