You'll shave off at least 10 strokes with a Scotty Cameron in your bag ;)

Good luck with your competitions!

Nice setup!

It might be in your best interest to replace that putter though. Because of the casting process in clubs like that there can be inconsistencies in the head that can make it difficult to control distance properly. A used ping or odyssey that you can pick up for the price of a box of balls will be better constructed and will alleviate this problem. Just a thought!

Nice putter, tried it in a store a few months ago and it was as good as all the high end putters I tried that day. Congratulations!

Hey mate, I'm in Adelaide as well.

What's Mawson Lakes like as a course? Never played there.

It's nice. The fairways and greens are well maintained. Its not the longest, but it requires accuracy with plenty of trees and out of bounds.

A good course to improve your golf then. Forces you to play properly and punishes you for being silly. That gets a handicap down faster than anything else.

I used to play across Adelaide, but I've been a member at Grange for about three years now so haven't played too much golf away from there since joining.

I'm probably a similar standard to you. We should arrange a game some time.

I think so. Two immaculate courses, great practice facilities and clubrooms, good members. It depends on how frequently you play. If you play weekly, six day membership equates to about $60 per round. Seven day membership is about $70 per round. Obviously every week you don't play this number goes up and makes your golf comparatively more expensive. I live at Grange so it's great for me, but the closest public course is Adelaide Shores (The Pat). If I played there every week it'd cost me 2/3 of what I pay at Grange. Given the relative differences between the two, I think it's great value.

Membership for next year is open at the moment if you're interested...

It's not the 3k a year that puts me off (all though it's at the tip of what my wife thinks acceptable). It's the 6k entrance fee haha.

I might end up there one day, but not currently with the young kids.

Haha. I know that feeling.

I joined with my father and two others, so we got a group discount on our joining fee. That made it slightly more palatable.

If you are interested though, there is a contemporary membership package which I think is a joining fee of about $1k instead of $6k. I think the annual fee is slightly higher but there's only a couple of hundred dollars in it. I have a few friends who joined this way instead. The only downside is that I don't think you have reciprocal rights for interstate and international clubs. Not a big deal unless you play golf while travelling a lot.
