I had a similar thought; that the reason he used them now, was because they were in the first set of irons he had when he became a great junior player.  A set from maybe ten or twelve years ago.  (He's about 20 now.  A five year old set, when he was a 12 year-old in Oz?)

he was using KBS shafts all of recent hisrtory (including AM wins) only noticed the rifles when he switched to the new irons, i'm thinking its a fitting thing? maybe they were a better suited option.

I was thinking that same thing. I think I had flighted rifles as a stock shaft in my old Callaway X-14 Pro Series irons way back when.

I really hope those irons see a release next year.

I'm sure they wouldn't help my handicap, but they'll be in the bag.
