OP, i'm caddying for another playing in vancouver and then maybe victoria/kelowna for same player......... if you want to chat about point grey course or vancouver (ball doesn't fly nearly as far as most american players are accustomed to) just fire away.

if you need a monday qualifying caddy in vancouver, i'm happy to do it FOR FREE.........

i used to know the winnipeg stop well but they changed courses............. basically very windy in winnipeg (it's a little out of town and i doubt there's many big trees) and with right conditions ball can go very far

btw, as noted much much earlier in the thread the greens at point grey in vancouver were beyond horrible last year. green conditions were the worst i've ever seen and i've played lots of pitch and putts and little country/cottage courses............ i may be over there in next few days and will report if the greens are terrible this year. probably as we had another snowy winter.

fyi, the entry list for the monday qualifier is up and i see your name is on it...... no tee times yet. and i presume alot of players on the list won't play but i might be very wrong on that.

This winter was much milder in Vancouver compared to last, which was one of the worst in years. Iíd be surprised if the greens at Point Grey were in the same shape as last year.

Chad, no problem on going it alone for monday.....

i don't know swaneset that well.......... here's what i know: 1) wont have rained in vancouver in at least 10 days so everything will be fast (for vancouver); 2) ball doesn't carry as far in vancouver as most other golf places; 3) players last year - i know you were one -  said the bunkers were unpredictable, therefore maybe avoid them (whereas often you would think of bunker as ok miss)

good luck..... i might be out there as i have two friends in the monday qualify...

Solid week tuning up for the upcoming Canadian season. https://thegprotour....urnament_id=107

Would have loved to win again this year but after shooting +1 the first day Iíll take a T-6 finish. I got home last night at 9pm, did laundry and packed for this morning. Tomorrow is Monday qualifying for the first Canadian tour event and then the following Monday I will do sectional qualifying. Going to be a fun month of golf coming up!
Enjoy the chase.

now that you are on to point grey and playing a practice round on wednesday, i'd say 7th and 16th are the two holes that cause the most trouble (and i'd say by far). of course, par 5's are important like every course/tournament.

not sure of the quality of greens but saw alot of really bad putts when they was significant slope involved. with the terrible greens, they put the flags where the grass grows and for whatever reason (sunlight???) they put the flags on ridges with big dropoffs below. saw alot of putts that surprisingly didn't make it near the hole from above. a few zoomed by but far more short.......... my guess is the greens will be better this year as they might have taken aggressive action to protect them this last winter

i think technically last year's terrible greens might have had to do with wet spring and not snowy winter. i think this year was very wet too (and winter was snowy)

but i suppose we'll both find out tomorrow.

Have fun, enjoy your practice round at Point Grey... It's a great course, wonderful condition right now.

Will be pulling for you this week Chad.

The course will be in great shape as it barely snowed all summer in the lower mainland and itís been sunny for the past month.

Chad, a real pleasure to meet you on the range this morning.

fantastic round yesterday. as i said briefly, the morning/afternoon differential was huge last year (probably minus 9 vs. minus 4 for best score morning/afternoon on thursday last year)..... i thought we both were on the right side of the draw this year but it looks like we weren't.

i think you'll be playing the weekend........ my player missed cut. probably pick up another bag tomorrow.

so nice opening and closing rounds. a little disappointing on the middle rounds... nice start to your canadian tour experience

i caddied right behind you sunday and my pro could not figure out how you were so far ahead of us as we hadn't had a really slow hole (i.e. looking for a ball)... btw, that guy who caddied for you on the weekend is great

good luck in portland :)

Chad is one stroke off 4th place (4 qualify in Portland)......... i think he's on 6th hole of 2nd round which seems kinda slow (wonder if delayed scores or if it doesn't account for fact he's on 6th hole of his back 9). maybe not as it's west coast and 36 holes takes awhile. not sure why they don't have an 18 hole cut. makes a ton of sense to me.

Chad, i was going to suggest that you contact canadian tour and find out how many starters and/or qualifying scores there were for some of the monday qualifying last year......

i'm guessing that monday qualifying in vancouver that you did (and qualified) would be the toughest (lots of good local golfers in big population area, start of year so everyone has $$$$ and is excited)............ and something like thunder bay tourney is in the middle of nowhere (understatement) and i'm told it has same number of successfyul monday qualifiers... winnipeg (semi in the middle of nowhere) i think has very soft monday qualify too......... fyi, i love thunder bay and winnipeg. great places, great people etc.

and of course, lots of the eastern tourneys are much more convenient for you. but that's obvious....

yeah itíll get easier as the year goes on. I personally donít pay much attention to that. My view in Canada mondays is shoot something that starts with a 6 and youíre probably in. I wonít be playing next week since air canada lost my clubs today. Also charged me a ton for a flight then they rebooked me for a cheaper flight and havenít given me a refund. Iíll have a fun week of back and forth with their customer service
Enjoy the chase.

Canít believe I didnít see this. But yes! After about a week. Really scared me

Big thank you to fellow WRX member Michael Yu for caddying the first two days in Toronto for me! We made the cut on the number and today was an awesome round considering how windy it was.

Pleasure was all mine Chad. You were unbelievably easy to caddy for and to see your talent and grit first hand was awesome, would do it again in a second. Make it rain these last two days buddy.

Good luck man. one of our local amateurs is playing and playing pretty well. Hugo Bernard. As a 12 year old junior we knew he was heading places. Super nice guy if you ever come across him. Make it happen this weekend.
