Chad - would love to hear about some of your plans for the next few months as you prepare for 2018? Interested to hear about practice activities, equipment changes, and any tournaments you are planning to enter over the next couple of months?

Hey all! Iíve been awfully quiet on this thread in the offseason and I apologize. But I come back with great news!

I have secured some financial backers which I so desperately needed. I have gained almost 10 pounds of muscle this offseason and as far as tournament plans go I will go back to Canada and when Iím the states I will play in mostly GPro with Mondayís sprinkled in. Come Fall I will be exempt into first stage of q school and will attack that route again.

As I type this Iím all drugged up from getting all four of my wisdom teeth taken out yesterday but a couple days before then I was able to get my first practice session of the year in. Iíll include a link to my Facebook post with the face on and down the line view.

https://www.facebook...384914108617641

No equipment changes this offseason and I donít plan on changing anything other than getting the new Titleist irons. Unless someone wants to give me a Circle T 😉 Titleist/Footjoy has been absolutely fantastic to me and my unusual journey into pro golf so far. It means a lot knowing they have my back. Itís easy to use their clubs/apparel anyways because they make high quality stuff.

Iím happy to answer any questions yíall might have and I hope youíre ready to follow along for a BIG 2018!

Happy New Years everybody!

You go get 'em!

FYI, got all four of mine out at age 22, spent a day in a recliner and was out for 18 holes of golf and 3 sets of spitting blood tennis the next (and I'm not tough!) - get out there, other guys were practicing while you were nursing those sockets!

Just teasing.  Have a great year.  Someone I know had some incredible success this fall on another tour and has been hit or miss on mini tours, Canadian, Web.com events, etc. for several years so keep at it, if it's your dream - and don't be selling any more guitars.

Chad - Been lurking on WRX forever but somehow just now stumbling across this thread.  So glad to see a Piedmont guy trying to make it out there.  Will be avidly following this thread and hoping big things come your way in 2018!  If you ever find yourself playing in the Northeast and needing a looper or a place to crash please do give me a shout (I'm now in Southern Maine about an hour north of Boston).

I was getting some work in on trackman and I was suprised at how bad my numbers were compared to 2-3 years ago. I used to have swing speeds of 115-118 and now Iím closer to 110-112. I have gained a ton of accuracy but have lost some speed and distance. I would personally be okay gaining my 5mph clubhead speed back and missing say 3 more fairways per round. My coach Daniel Gray took a look at a swing from this year and one from 2 years ago.

Also included just for the heck of it are my numbers with my 15 degree Titleist 917 3w set to A1

Iím not a numbers guy when it comes to golf swings but that seems like quite a change, almost not believable for someone who plays like you do. What do you believe to be the primary cause? Hope you find a livable solution.

I made a conscious effort to be more accurate off the tee. Consequently the moves I made have turned me into a consistent driver. The only issue is I got rid of some of the athleticism that comes with driving the ball. The V1 vid I posted illustrates it. The swing on the left is me today and the swing on the right is me from 2 years ago. Looks like two completely different people
Enjoy the chase.

Hey Chad, I know you want to get your numbers back and would sacrifice fairways for distance etc but try not to lose sight of the fact that the only real number that matters is your stroke average. If you're average is lower now than it was 2-3 years ago which I suspect it is based on your wins and improvement last year I'd be very careful about focusing your attention back on chasing old swing speed numbers etc. You got serious game, keep sharpening up your iron/wedge distance control and that 4-8 foot putt range which is the biggest separator on tour in the putting statistics

All the best

Got some good work in at Sea Island this week. Worked on increasing my swing speed and accuracy with a few tweaks to my set up and backswing. Things feel good right now

When I saw the "Chad McCann started round 1 and is E thru 1" notification I was hoping to see a post on here. Looks like you finished your front nine well to get those early dropped shots back. Play well tomorrow and as always, appreciate all the insight you give.
