Are you hiding something? Do you feel shame? Are you not as WRXy as golfmachine001 or golf4eva123? Do you have a cross to bear?

It's OK: you're not alone!
Well OK, maybe it will just be you and me, but surely there are loads of us that lack something that makes up the collective je ne sais wrx.
And I don't mean the stereotype of the 300+ bomber, but the essence of WRX, if there is such a thing.

I buy loads of gear. I love mixing golf and travel and playing loads of different courses. I waste time on here pointlessly pontificating on slow play or golf balls when I should be working. I have Snells and Ksigs. I used to be clueless on the golf swing, but now take an interest in that too.
I cover some key wrx components, but there is still a key component where I most definitely fail.

For me it is Mizuno irons. I know they are buttery. I know bagging a set of MP... means I'm a pin-seeking, dart-throwing, ironer of the highest order. I love the idea of playing a set of warn out Mizzys. But alas, even after trying the standard bearing MP-33s and MP-4s, I instead return to Srixon, Cobra, Hogan, Ping... pretty much anyone else.

Mizunos just don't do it for me. That's my WRX fail.
What's yours?

I can't hit it 300+ yards consistently. Actually can't hit it 275+ consistently.

Who am I kidding, I can't hit it 250+ consistently straight.

Oh, I ditched the Mizuno's for a bit; but will be getting some soon, although Hot Metals aren't blades...

Edit: Just realized I only have 1 set of irons at the moment; SGI at that :swoon:

Does that mean I have to turn in my WRX card?

Interesting, I play the Srixon's as well, but my biggest WRX failure is probably my lack of distance. I don't have a 175 MPH swing speed and cannot hit the ball 475 yards off the tee nor does my PW fly 185 and back up 15 yards. I even have an idiot mark on my driver....god forbid. I am just lucky that they let me into these posts and "muck" around.

I am an equipment junkie but even trying to cut down on that so I am starting to fail the WRX test there as well. I even buy clubs off the rack with stock shafts.....that will send me to WRX hell alone!

I can't hit a low spin, XX stiff shaft and I don't even know what the hell Hot Melt is or does.

I can even hit a slice and I know that is not sexy WRX style. Oh well, I just hope they let me stay on the sight.

Not at all. We cannot account for our physical limitations, I don't pound it out there either. That doesn't hurt our wrxyness.

Now the irons. If you are playing GIs you really should be playing a Ping G series iron. Playing GI Mizzys? That might be worth a small sanction or time in the penalty box ;)

My WRX fail is not knowing or caring about MOI, spin rate, number of dimples, or any technical Voodoo related to golf or especially my golf.  I go, I play, I cuss, and I know as certainly as the night follows the day that I will probably get four pars in a row before finding a quadruple bogey or three bogeys in row before a par.  What I "know" is what I have experienced in fifty years of golf--for most, it is a game best suited for a Masochist!  Spin rate be damned, after all these years all I want is the middle of the fairway--186 yds is just fine, 200 great, and 250 buried in the past.

My biggest wrx fail is I can't launch a low spin, weight forward, 13.5* three wood tour head off the deck.

Ironically, this had lead to massive buying of 3 and 4w heads and shafts, which equals a gazillion possible combos, which makes me wrx'ier in some respects

I have the club and shoe buying portion well covered

Ah yes! Ya I watch Crossfield and Shiels videos now and again and when they start talking about the numbers - apart from simple dispersion and distance - they are lost on me. I'm sure it's easy enough to figure out, based on a couple parameters, but I'm not sure whether it would help or hinder me.

I would love to get to that point. I've had a couple false dawns. Hit rock bottom last Xmas with 10 iron sets, have widdled it down to 5 + some heads.
I could never have a single set, but having only two is my ultimate goal!

In your irons sure, with all the no upcharge options these days. But your driver shaft? That's got a real fancy long name or has a combination of numbers and letters?
Stock driver shafts are just something to stick the heads on for display models!

A bunch of years ago I did the ultimate WRX move, got a set of irons with my name engraved on them! So cool:) But, now I don't want to get rid of them, which is making it hard to be a true WRX club jockey. But with putters, wedges, and woods...look out!

PS. I've given up having my clubs in my signature. Why? I'd have to come and change my signature after like every single round...

I feel so much better coming out of the proverbial "cart barn" . I never knew there were others like me out there on this site. A huge burden has lifted off my shoulders. I think I will see if I can put some lead tape on my ball marker, the drop weight is too light.

Do you know if there are bumper stickers for us that state "WRX' Reject"?

I wear Walter Hagen golf shirts and golf shorts from Walmart, and really like 'em!

I was in Walmart for the first time in quite a while a few days ago and stumbled across their Ben Hogan clothing line.

Really nice shirts and shorts (at least I thought so). Shirts are $16.99. Hard to beat that.

Maybe 'WRXer in Training'? Like the name badge new starters at McDs get ;)

"I don't agree 100% with your analysis.  Yes, it's nice to hole out, which I did twice during last weeks game, but didn't need either to win those holes or the match.   All that was needed was a tap in to win each hole.  Of course, I was aiming from 20yds and 15yds with the intent to put the ball in the hole, but the expectation was tap-ins."

Here's some technology I can get into!  O.K.  which side of the marker engraved side or polished side?  What angularity?  "Weight of tape per square inch?  "Any free drops for bounce and roll?  Most important, what is the MOI of pre-lead weighted ball markers as opposed to unmodified, thus, unweighted ball markers?
Will tape stick to my Augusta National ball marker, should I?  If damaged can I send it to SC for a rebuild?
FINALLY--I'M INTO GOLFWRX!!!!!!!

I probably stalk too much and don't participate enough on the website.  Heck, it says I joined the group in 2013 and have only 104 posts!  Most the threads I like to read are a billion pages already.  I did get through all of the George Gankas thread, which was an accomplishment I thought.  Also, don't really have a back up set of clubs.

I fail at WRXing in so many ways. I'm not a major club ho...just a minor one. My drives are only 275 on average, and that includes roll. I don't play X shafts and have no idea what "tipped" means. Heck, I've never even broken 80 nor have I ever had a hole in one. I like to claim that I hit a baby draw, but I really hit more bullet hooks than baby draws. I've never successfully pulled off a butter cut when I was trying to...only when I got lucky. And I occasionally back up a wedge shot, but most of the time it bounces once, bites really hard, and rolls out about a foot or so (and that is even with a PV1x).

My only saving graces are that I have a dozen of basically every tour ball made in the last two years waiting to be tried out on the course, and I have at least 3 sets of clubs (all "players" clubs). And I have more golf clothes than one human could imagine.

Look, I'd love to drive it 325 down the middle consistently like these guys here but I just can't dial it back so I've gotta stay a somewhat wild 375.
