That's the model Taylormade had for sale a few months back when Jason Day first started putting with the Spider.  The difference is, this putter is "inspired by Jason Day" but not the same because it has a full-shaft offset, thus it is face-balanced, whereas Jason Day's putter (along with DJ and many others on tour) is the slant neck model that has a slight toe hang.

I just thought it was odd, because the sole didn't say limited?

Interesting to see tx flex in 5 wood (seems to be shortened at least 1/2" as well) compared to x flex same shaft in 3 wood. Curious what benefit there is for softer flex in 3 wood

Amazing how much TM irons look like Mizuno's.  Surely a copyright infringement there.

I wasn't either til Sunday.  His ball speed with the driver was 186 (or 188 can't remember) on one hole.  That's serious cheddar.

I am fairly new to this so I had never heard of TT DG X7's. So those must be crazy stiff I assume.

I worked at a club in Oklahoma 16 or 17 years ago and he played in a AJGA event and he was a good little player. Watched in person in a web.com event last year and he stood out among the players as being one of the bigger hitters. He's fairly tall, athletic and uses his body length to generate serious leverage.

Love the club selections!! Funny how players choose Mizuno irons when they aren't being paid to play something else.

JPX900 Forged iron with no number on the bottom looks interesting. Wonder where that fits into his set. Loooooove that putter grip. I've got one on my Nike Origin putter (they were standard) and they are mint. Going to be my blade putter grip of choice I think. Nice set up.

callawaylefty and i followed him for a while when he was in KC on web.com tour, he was probably the longest guy i'd ever seen in person.  the tournament was at a course I'm familiar with, and he was hitting his 3w 300+

i was at oak tree national back at the beginning of April and he was there on the putting green just grinding away on putts inside 10ft.  nice to see him play well recently, as i've been a fan since we saw him years ago.

I went to HS with Robert Streb and K Tway. love seeing both of them play well on tour... Although as of late Streb has been struggling.  They pop up at their old home course of Oak Tree from time to time which is cool to see.

Could be as more of a trajectory control tactic, while I do hit the ball pretty hard my main issue is hitting it too high so I use the c-Taper 130x cuz even the Tour Issue x100 still left me ballooning shots if I didn't actively knock it down. As soon as they make black x7's I'll definitely be trying those.

Thanks friggen nuts.  I seriously have zero clue how someone can have a hard time hitting it too high.  It just doesn't make semse in my brain.  But suspect you meed power for that to happen amd sounds like you boys have it!

They have made a bunch of different models of the spider putter (no kidding). I have a red one with a sight line and a black bent face balanced shaft and red/white superstroke grip. Also has changeable weights. On the bottom says tour limited. What makes it different and like the putter Tway has is the pure roll insert. This one like mine has a white polymer filling the grooves. The ones that they are selling that are supposedly like DJ and Days have machined grooves with no polymer fill. For me that fill makes all the difference in the world feel and sound wise. They feel like two different putters. 1 session on the practice green and I returned the Day model.. oddly enough over time the polymer seems to extrude a small amount that you just trim flush..usually not in the center. Might be a chore to list all the various versions they have produced..

I'm not familar with his game. Does he really hit it that hard? X7 is no joke.

I wasn't either til Sunday.  His ball speed with the driver was 186 (or 188 can't remember) on one hole.  That's serious cheddar.

I worked at a club in Oklahoma 16 or 17 years ago and he played in a AJGA event and he was a good little player. Watched in person in a web.com event last year and he stood out among the players as being one of the bigger hitters. He's fairly tall, athletic and uses his body length to generate serious leverage.

callawaylefty and i followed him for a while when he was in KC on web.com tour, he was probably the longest guy i'd ever seen in person.  the tournament was at a course I'm familiar with, and he was hitting his 3w 300+

i was at oak tree national back at the beginning of April and he was there on the putting green just grinding away on putts inside 10ft.  nice to see him play well recently, as i've been a fan since we saw him years ago.

Oak Tree is a great place.  Pretty sure he lived on the course growing up.  By the way, played Prairie Dunes the week before the Big XII.  It was in good shape and as tough as I remembered it.  Wind was blowing 25-30 for us.

Saw him a bit on the telecast for the Valero.  Kid takes a rip at it.  He's got a really sweet swing too.

Awesome set up. I could/would game this bag without question. I also never realized how much of a rip he gives it. 185ish driver ball speed is some heat.

The 3 wood he hit at 18 on Sunday at the Valero....

289 to the pin and landed it about pin high, then jumped in the bunker.  Almost 290 on the fly off the deck.  He moves that club head.
