What is your preference when it's raining? Seems like I would prefer riding as you are able to keep your stuff drier but interested in what others think.

Walking using a ClicGear with an umbrella holder.  Stay dry all the way to the ball, step out from under it for a second to swing, then back under cover.

Walk with a push cart. Umbrella holder with a large umbrella. Rain cover on the bag. Keeps everything dry and you have all your clubs with you. I've played to many courses that move to cart path only during rain and usually you get soaked from running back and forth to the cart.

Light rain.  Walking is fine.

Heavy rain.   Rather be riding.

Heavy all day rain.   At home in garage.

If it's raining before I tee off, I usually sit in the bar and drink instead. If it starts rainin while I'm on the course, it's a matter of how I started the round. Admittedly though, 95% of my rounds are in a cart. None of my buddies walk, and I don't really want to be odd man out walking. I play for the social aspect these days (2 back surgeries ruined my game, so I don't play competitively anymore).

I get about just as wet either way since the course become CPO....  I'd prefer to just not play in the rain

yeah exactly...

I walk every round. But you get the odd thundershower type day where you want to be in a cart just in case.

If it's a wet rain versus a dry one, I'm not playing. If it's chubby rain then .....

there was a time when i would play in just about anything but now, unless i am at a destination, i will just head to the clubhouse and wait it out or go home. if it is raining before i even get to the course or leave the house ill just go home. i get to play alot of golf throughout the year so if i miss a round it doesnt bum me out.

I have a rain jacket designed to cover my push cart. That combined with the umbrella and I stay dryer than using a cart

Just played my first riding round that was Cart path only the other day. Wasn't raining but course was wet. I wish I would have just walked, but since it was a GN hot deal that included the cart I felt compelled to take it. I'll never ride another round that is CPO, that's for sure. I found it really hard to focus and played some generally awful golf.

Depends on how hard.....light rain, then click gear with umbrella/attachment.....works well....if it's a medium to hard rain, then the riding cart, as long as it has a cover for the bags.....if no cover, than the riding cart is useless in the rain!

My home course is really far from designed for walking, so when it's raining and/or wet CPO is seemingly always in effect. Carts have club covers on them and as long as the cart towels are able to move moisture off the seat, I will play. If I have full rain gear, I'll play in pretty much anything. Playing in rain during tournaments sucks, but it's pretty obvious when you see a guy who starts to struggle badly when the rain comes down and the rain gear goes on that he only owns it as a show that he might play in rain vs actually ever doing it.

I have shot some of my lowest scores in pouring down rain before because it makes me need to focus that much more.

Walking with a suit, clicgear and umbrella. These days I remember to bring extra towels.
Though the other day it rained on me after I forgot the umbrella. I had a grand old time, it was like years ago before I new anything about rain suits or golf umbrellas, had fun playing in the rain.

In the rain I like just a rain jacket and wool hat.  And if it gets heavy I pull out the umbrella for my push cart.

If it rains I always take a cart as my course's carts have good rain covers and all you need is a towel in the cart. But I usually walk and carry, and a couple times recently I tried the umbrella with the dry towel hanging in the spokes, and I found that you need a third arm (or a caddie) to make this work. Both times I bailed after hands and grips getting wet.
So there is really only here and now

Cart usually even though most of the course I play are CPO during the rain. I'd consider walking once I get a clicgear w/ an umbrella holder
