Hey guys! You guys know me as Chilidog on here, but I wanted to let you know that I started a new apparel line with some partners that I think everyone has been asking and clamoring for over the years. As most of you know, I've called on the apparel market for years in every major category including golf. One of my major frustrations was hearing "that adds $.15 and we can't afford that."  Seriously? Adding something for $.15 like a silicone waistband you can't afford when you are selling the garment for $80? It was a similar refrain, day in and day out. And sadly no Brand seemed to be immune. It didn't matter what the garment was selling for and what the customer wanted, it was simply about building a garment to a price and making as much profit as possible.

That's when we said enough. My partners and I decided it was time to build garments that we wanted to wear with all the features we wanted in a garment for a price that made sense for everyone. With that, Charleston Green was born. We decided to start with polos that looked refined enough to wear in a Boardroom or on the golf course. We focused on a collar that looked the same every time that you took it out of the dryer (anti-curl) and making a polo that always had the best wicking performance combined with no iron dependability. Finally, we wanted something that stretched with our every movement and carried enough weight in the fabric that you never had to worry about the "chest hair" effect.

Our perfect polo was almost born. There was just one thing missing...we all believe in leaving the Earth in better shape than what we found it. So, we made everyone of our polos out of recycled water bottles. What's cool is that recycled polyester feels no different from regular polyester but you know you've done something good for the environment.

We felt good about what we accomplished. We made a $100 polo that we've developed for many high end Brands. But, that raised our last decision before hitting the market: what were we going to sell them for? We decided $29.99 was a price most everyone could afford and which would bring the world of luxury polos to the masses. Tell us what you think. Go to the Golfwrx sponsored giveaway that is currently going on for you chance to win one and tell everyone what you think: http://www.golfwrx.c...ts-10-winners/.

If you don't win or want to definitely try one yourself, go here to order yours: https://www.amazon.c...+n5L&ref=plSrch

My advice, if you like a slimmer cut, order one size down from your normal size. If you want ultra slim, order 2 sizes down. If you want a classic full cut, order your normal size.

Thanks guys and hit them straight in style!

Good luck with the new company! Those shirts must stretch a bunch, if you can order 2 sizes down to get an ultra slim fit.

Thanks guys! I've said it over and over again, but this community is awesome. Please post reviews here as I think you guys are going to really love them.

Also, one thing we are doing right now is working to expand our product line into 1/4 zips, more polo styles (we wanted to start with a solid and work our way into other designs), rain jackets, stretch fleece, etc. This community is full of great ideas that even we haven't thought of...if we incorporate one of your design ideas into a garment, we will send you 1 of each of our products for free. Start thinking about those ideas as we'll get to that in the coming weeks. I'll let you know what we've thought about from our experiences and we'll let you guys chime in from there. Thanks a lot guys! You guys are the best.

The shirts are poly/spandex. No cotton. This is a more classic look shirt similar to Peter Millar or Dunning from a looks standpoint.

We all know the stylings out there in the market. I wanted to design a shirt that could pass for classic or super slim and help people understand how to achieve that. I kind of hate when they put measurements for fit. We, in this community know it by Brand right? I would say, if you want it to fit like a Peter Millar shirt that seems a little big for its stated size, order your normal size. If you want it to fit more like a slightly tailored RLX shirt, order a size down. If you want it to fit like J Lindeberg or Uniqlo super, super tailored, order 2 sizes down. I wanted options for most of the market (which fits in that size M, L, XL category). I will sincerely apologize to the Small market.

Measurements for guidance on fit would be very helpful. Its difficult for me to comprehend the notion of a luxury shirt yet no size measurements are given. Bodies come in all shapes so there's never going to be a perfect fit unless you get it tailored. Personally, it's a confidence thing knowing I've measured the right size or the size that's closest to my measurements. That would up the quality of service greatly too.

Ok, I have to try one of these based on that feature alone,

One question though, I usually wear XXL in UnderArmour and XL in Adidas; which are the Charleston Green closest to in size?

I usually buy Uniqlo size M, does that mean I would need a Charleston Green XS to achieve a similar fit? One great thing about Uniqlo is that their size charts include the garment dimensions.

For someone who has constantly pushed more fitted shirts and pants, it's very surprising you went with a full cut (almost baggy) with your clothing line to sell to the public.   They look nice in the photos, just way too baggy.

Thanks guys for the comments on the shirts. We actually did a lot of research on this topic visiting 5 golf clubs in the area (2 top end, 3 public) and polling golfers. We also did a survey with a company in downtown Charleston. We fell on the side of measurements but the OVERWHELMING response was that people rarely looked at measurements online because they didn't know their measurements. The majority of people said that if I normally buy L and like a looser fit, what should I buy from you. Just tell me. So, we took all that feedback and developed our story.

Also, regarding the fuller cut. We did about 4 months in Beta giving away roughly 50 shirts around the area and soliciting feedback. Here is what we found out:

1) Virtually everyone said this was in the luxury polo category as it was something they would feel comfortable in for business meetings.
2) The shirt quality, feel and design reminded them most of Peter Millar.
3) They would consider this shirt more for people 30 and up. The sleeve is not mid bicep but doesn't come close to the elbow either.
4) Again, overwhelmingly, we heard don't make this slim fit where most guys can't wear it. The 2 guys that wanted a slimmer fit, we sent them a shirt one size down and we got "nailed it" type of comments back. One guy wanted super trim (he worked out a lot and wanted to show it off 😊) and we sent him one 2 sizes down that he loves (actually owns every color now) and wears to the office almost every day.

We knew with all things that we wouldn't appeal to everyone. And honestly, we aren't trying to. Our customer is someone who wants a high end polo with all the bells and whistles but wants to buy it at an affordable price. We don't think you'll find a better polo on the market even at higher price points.

Good luck with the new company. I'm always looking for companies that sell polos that look like regular polos, just in athletic materials, so this is right up my alley. I really like what I'm hearing about the weight and the collar, as I certainly have problems with the "chest hair effect" and there's nothing worse than a bad collar. I will say that I am nervous about sizing, as I wear a large slim in almost all brands, and I always love to check the measurements before I order (although I am aware that I am in the minority there).  That being said, I did just order a size medium in the light pink color, so I will definitely post my thoughts when it's gets here.

Chili,

If you're still in the design phase for your shorts, are you going to keep the "divider" at the bottom of the front pockets? :)

Silicon band, no dividers, 4 deep pockets for cell phone and scorecard holder. At most 7 belt loops. Above the knee length. Back pockets can be mesh, front, no mesh.

Thanks Chili. Time to check out your stuff.

EDIT:

Went to Amazon through the link and bought the lime green. Should be nice to wear during Masters week.
