Those are in two totally different leagues-

Just my .03 worth based on a few years Playin blades but to the person who would ask this question I would unequivocally and without hesitation say to go with the Tours-

A guy who is a blade Player doesn't even entertain that question and I mean no slight by it as the Tours are a world class iron and in quite a few Tour Boys bags-

Do yourself a favor Bro and go with the Tours!

You'll be very very happy😎

All the Best,
RP

MP5 is slightly more compact.  Otherwise, it's dead even.

Focus on finding the best shaft for you.

Tour might be a bit more forgiving without sacrificing anything else. Just look on tour right now..

MP-5s looked to have a little more offset to me than the Tours.  They were also a touch more squared and compact.  I really wanted to like the MP-5s because I love chromed out blades, but I just struck the Tours better.  I have not regretted my decision.

Call me old fashioned, but players clubs should be in chrome.  MP5 all day.  I just don't care for the satin finish...It shows wear and rub marks too easy.

I though the MP5's were just okay. Definitely didn't like them enough to ditch my 33's. On the other hand, I plan do plan on ditching them for the 900 Tours. First irons that's have wow'd me in a long time.

Another vote for the Tours.

Feel and performance were great for both irons. Trackman numbers identical. That satin finish is just gorgeous, though. Plus they made the 9i & PW nice and compact in the Tours as opposed to the larger, rounded shape found in the 5's.

Really can't go wrong with either. Comes down to visual preference more than anything.

Mixed opinions so far!
I will add my two cents worth......

Only hit the demo irons of both of these irons but the MP5 ticked more boxes for me, preferred the feel and could not fault the forgiveness I got from the MP5 either.
I certainly need to go re hit the 900 Tour as I really feel from my limited testing I have not given it a chance to shine.

I've had experience with both, and I bought the MP-5.  I then went the satin route on them and now they are the best of both worlds.  Played a lot of irons over the years, most recently the iBlades, and the MP-5's are perfect in every way imaginable.

I demo'd both quite a bit and went with the 900 Tours. They are so close that you are better off choosing on looks than performance, they are that close.

What's the opposite of a catch22? Can't go wrong ! I love how tours were designed using "h.i.t." to feel/sound just like mp 64 which in my opinion is the best feeling iron I've ever struck. Then you have mp5 with that little channel and chrome finish looking sexy as ever. You just know they feel sweet looking at em. Really a toss up. For me it'd probably come down to the simple chrome versus the busier badging and satin finish of the tour. When you're splitting hairs I usually go down to aesthetics

I've only hit the 900s off mats whereas I hit the MP-5s every round I play. However, I found the 5s slightly easier to hit and I think chrome looks much better than satin. They're really close though, so it's a matter of opinion.

The MP-5's are the classic Mizzy feel, the Tours are not. That said, it's impossible to go wrong, they're both fantastic sticks. Just can't beat that feel of nutting a Mizzy blade

I like the chrome look. MP5 feel fantastic and have that crisp soft feel. The JPX are good too but 5's won my bag. Kale is onto something, LZ are a great option opposed to modus 130.

completely different irons. Different looks and lofts. They are not comparable. So if you're deciding between the two you need to pick a category first.

MP 5's are blades. That's it. Blades are blades. If you're looking for any kind of "performance" look elsewhere.

JPX 900 is stronger lofted and much more forgiving. They did a fantastic job with these. They look much smaller than they are at address. I think it's the best Mid cap iron of the year

JPX 900 tour and MP5 have identical lofts !

Chiming in as a non-Mizuno user...

To me when I think Mizuno I think of the classic chrome blades and forged cavities.  They look awesome and the other stuff looks awful (IMO).  Granted I've never hit the JPX Tours and they are in a lot of tour bags but if the performance is even somewhat close- I'd game the MP5 EVERY TIME!  They look great! The JPX Tours are just blah to me.  But I like chrome in my irons not satin.

I was custom fit for my new JPX Tour coming from MP63's. I tried MP5 and just didn't think that they were as forgiving. I know others say literally the opposite to that point so that's interesting in itself. It is taking a little bit of getting used to with the finish BUT they are more forgiving than my MP63's. I played Saturday and had a couple of iffy lies that I didn't fancy. These really cut through much better than my old irons and resulted in good shots both times. I was very impressed. lucky for me I have 4 days in Portugal to test them properly (& 30 days return with mizuno if they really aren't what I want)

the biggest difference has been the slightly high launch of the PX 6.5 over my old X100. It's fine on the flat or with no wind but is certainly requiring a bit of "recalibration" with shots into the wind so far. work to do there but overall I am very happy. like anything, even custom fit, there is an adjustment to get used to them.
