I'm going to LA later this year and have an opportunity to play either Newport Beach CC or Santa Ana CC. Has anyone played either of these courses and have an opinion they would care to share?

Thanks for any help.

I've haven't played at either of them, but I will visit Newport Beach CC this week at a practice round for the Champions Tour. Newport Beach CC seems to be a fixture in the Champions Tour, so it must be a top notch course. I think it was also a location for Qualifying School.

Not that, it isn't, but I wouldn't gauge a course's quality based on if tours play there. The Champions tour used to play Piper Glen in Charlotte, and that is maybe the 15th best course in the city.
