345-yard 3-wood tee shot on level ground in the fairway. That's a new record...

There was a little breeze behind me, but I hit my 4 hybrid 375 yards on a 380 yard par 4. Tapped in for eagle!

A 15 foot tap in?
Well, I figure if someone is going to be gullible enough to believe I can hit my 4 hybrid 375 yards they'll easily believe that a 15 foot putt is a tap-in for me.

Billy hits a 375 yard hybrid so of course 15 feet is nothing but a tap in.

Ok, I will play along with a no BS answer.  Saturday must have been long 3-wood day.  I hit the two longest 3-woods I have ever hit.  Caveats: Elevation = ~5000 ft - sorry it is all I can play at the moment; fairways are pretty firm this time of year.

First one went about 302 yards after hitting the downward side of a mound on a relatively flat hole otherwise.  It was down wind about 10 MPH.  Kind of a fluke with the combination of mound, firm fairway, and breeze.

Second one went 274 yards where there was a bit of a down slope out around 230, but very little wind.  I hit this one far better.  Not bad for an old fat lady!

Hey hey you could at least PM that this thread exist, it took me 13 days to finally find this..... and to be fair, OP said it was lucky....not 300 yards out of the rough constantly.....

Lastly.... reached a Par5 in 2 the other day with 2, 5 woods... not sure how that happened, my 5 wood went farther than my Driver.....

The only time I think of 3-wood distance is when there is trouble ahead.  Its more of a don't hit it any farther than X kind of shot where I don't want to hit it driver distance.  Down wind the spin of a 3-wood can make it go a long way by keeping the ball aloft.

Back when I was a teen, drove this slight dogleg left once in mid-spring before it got warm. Came close a few other times. No, didn't hit cart path or any aids. Used a Wilson 1200GE 3w 15* w/ TT Dynamic S shaft.z

Rember the course, but forget which hole # but think it was the 8th:
http://golfbergencou...lington_course/

Now hit 915fd 15* Phenom S+ 275-290 of tee and 265-280 off deck typically. Can but rarely stretch to 300+.

I think my longest 3 wood was this January... playing when it was about 15 degrees... popped my drive up maybe 200 yards off well right of the fairway... found my ball on the fringe of a neighboring green.  Have no clue how far I was but I was prett embarrassed my drive almost killed a lady chipping... I walked up and quickly swung as hard as I could with no thought what so ever.  I nuked it right on line with the pin... it bounced about 15 times off the frozen fairway and somehow rolled onto the frozen green and I had a easy eagle putt.   Maybe 330-340 away... had it been normal ground it would have been about 50/60 yards short

Not sayin I don't believe you, but back in the day I was considered a really good club chucker, and I could only manage 100 with a 3w.

I threw a 3 wood about 115 with the roll out at sea level after blowing my second shot on a par 5 into a condo development one time.

Trap draw.

Not sayin I don't believe you, but back in the day I was considered a really good club chucker, and I could only manage 100 with a 3w.

Let me guess, you chucked lit like a helicopter? That's just poor form. You really need to take a running start and launch that bad boy like your going for the gold in the Javelin. That'll get you some carry.

Thanks for the tip. Please explain the proper spine angle and the planting of the left foot during release..

I turned it over, caught a downslope, plus it was hot that day.
